CALovely forest around the villa, and pretty flowers in the garden. Pool was nice, clean, and refreshing. It was probably fabulous a few years ago and needs a little more maintenance to bring back its charm. Host was helpful but communication was an issue. We paid a hundred dollars for three nights and that’s good value. There is an amazing art gallery nearby which is worth half a day, including great food at the restaurant. Public transit nearby can get you into the heart of Hanoi in about 90 minutes.
Maintenance issues and some things need an upgrade (air conditioning, steps). Location is great if you are ok with relaxing in the garden but not so good if you want things to do.

Hygiene was a serious issue. As we were checking out, we saw staff just sweep hair off the bedsheets with a broom without changing them. When we asked, they said the next guest wasn’t staying long, so it didn’t matter. The manager didn’t seem to care when we reported it. Also, the bathroom had only a curtain instead of a proper door, which felt uncomfortable.
