"The most autentic Balinese stay one can imagine!"

10.0

I had to look for an stay near Ubud as the previous house I stayed in one month ago was fully booked. I came spontaneous to this home stay, and was overwhelmed about the appearance. It was the most authentic Balinese style apartment I could have wished. It was in the middle of home tempels, spiritual places and private homes and apartment's surrounding these temples. It happened to be one family who did organise life together and invited me directly to be part of it. Celebrating a birthday party of a child, getting food and special things all the time for free, like I was part of the ceremony or family. At the same time I had my own room which looked like a 5 Star Hotel room. I had an separte bathroom with 2 big nice smelling sauna towels! The bathroom had a shower which I do not even have at home a top roof fountain shower, all brand new, tiles are cleaned and sparkling new! The bed was fantastico I could have slept if I wanted with 3 person on the mattress and the curtains were so good isolating that I overslept in the morning, because they were pit dark and sound absorbing. The breakfast served had 5 components, Yellow-Rice, vegetables, chicken, sambal, Kampong Krupuk, and Tahu all very tasty! It could have come from a 5 star restaurant. The owner did do all what was possible to make me feel comfortable, the family was all very kind and on my day I had to leave to the airport they even offered me for free to use the motorbike I rented for another 6 hours. Amazing, after they brought me to the Airport as well. I can only say negative comments are not coming from my side, the negative, comments ai read in Booking.com I can not even understand, I sincerely feel and suggest that the price of the stay was far to little for the things and hospitality I got! € 7,00 or $ 7,00 can easily be upgraded to € 12,00 or $ 12,00 and even then I find this amount far to less for what I got. But the pricing I le@ve up to the owners, From my side it was too cheep.

...a water boiler and 2 cups in the room could have been top. A small tea, a small coffee is all what I missed sometimes. All around the place and in Ubud you can eat non stop, cooking is not required, or needed but a water boiler would be very nice to have. REST ME TO SAY ONLY : T H A N K Y O U S O M U C H F O R Y O U R E S C E P T I O N A L W E L C O M E - Terima Kasih banjak,

"Very good"

8.0

The room is new, perfectly clean and comfortable. The owner is nice and friendly.

The location is not strategic and you have no privacy. You are in the middle of the busy village life and it's very noisy here - roosters, chickens, pigs, crying and playing children, drunk locals at night. The room is located on the first floor, so you need to keep the curtains shut because a lot of people are walking in front of your door all the time and watching what you are doing. There are no shops or nice warungs in the area. The road leading to the house is completely broken and under maintenance now. So considering all the inconveniences I think the price is not fair. In the central Ubud you can stay at a much quieter and nicer place with breakfast included for the same or even lower price.

Beautiful location

No AC in Room 2, Roosters Crowing, Dogs Barking, windows open to hear chatter of taxi stand outside, only 2 min of hot water in shower then cold again, dark room, cold - daylight lightbulbs - need warm nightime bulbs

"A very welcoming, authentic, loving Homestay and many things to explore"

10.0

I would recommend this lovely homestay for everyone😍! Especially solo travellers. It's a huge family living together on the property with lots of small houses. They are all extremely friendly and smily!! I think this is an amazing place to stay, if you want to be a bit away from the hectic Ubud city! And don't worry about transport: You can hire a scooter from the family or you can get rides from the local driving community. The drivers are located directly in front of the house and are more than welcome to take you. They drive very safely by the way. Jero, a very lovely women, basically runs everything!! She makes sure that you are looked after and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy💕. She gave me her number so that I can reach out to her if I had any questions. The Indonesian breakfast that she brings you is delicious by the way! While you're eating on your balcony, you can hear their birds singing too ❤️ 🐦 . I also really liked my room. You're paying less than you would pay for a dorm room in a hostel but you have your own bed and bathroom! The bed was very big and comfy. Wifi was great, I could even watch Netflix with it 😊 What I loved most at my stay was the feeling of being surrounded by happy people, especially the children. You can hear cars at night, and some people talking on the street, but I don't mind it because it's a family and a village as well so of course you'll hear some things. It's human and it made me feel save as a female solo traveler. Some people in the reviews say that there is nothing in the area - I don't think that's true! Foodwise f.e there is a Warung called Waring Makan Bu Desai and they are wonderful!! There are also Waterfalls in the area that Jero recommended to me. (Manuaba waterfall for example). And it's a short shooter ride to Ubud if you feel like hitting the big city.

"This is the authentic Bali homestay experience. It was the best part of our holidays."

10.0

The true homestay experience in Bali! This is the only accommodation where we really had the opportunity to see locals' life from inside, interact with the family and participate in religious ceremonies. You are surrounded by farm animals, next to a rice field, with Balinese breakfast, and staying inside a family temple. The family is lovely and gave a lot of attention to our 1 year old boy. Kenderan is a little village with hardly any tourists, it's central from many attractions north of Ubud, and the locals are extremely welcoming
