Spacious, comfortable beds

The only thing it didn’t have was a fridge in the room.

the room was much larger than expected. I was a little unwell, and the staff were lovely and let me check in early. The breakfast was great, the location was perfect.

I wish there was a mini fridge in the room, but that is my only request. everything else was fab.

The rooms are pleasant and mine - first floor 'premium queen' - was very large (honestly, unnecessarily large for just me, but that's what was available). A little £5 voucher appeared under the door every day I said I didn't need it cleaning, which was a nice touch. I had one very nicely kept but expensive draught beer in the evening. There seemed to be some kind of rave happening in the next field, but it ended mercifully early, which was nice. It's an easy walk from the 600 bus that goes to and from City airport.

The huge room was nice but in other respects the hotel made me regret not choosing an Ibis directly, as that was the rest of the experience (to be clear, I think Ibis is absolutely fine, but also priced accordingly). The corridor smelt somewhat of drains the first few days when it had rained. There was a little sign next to the bathroom tap that warned of very hot water that was not forthcoming until I'd run the shower a bit. Free wifi is only free in the 'you will not pay money for it' because it required I join and give my details to some kind of loyalty program. This is, as the kids say, a bad look. (I did not. Maybe it was great) Breakfast was on the hot side a standard British fry up and some not particularly warm porridge, and a range of British breakfast cereals, some granola, and some dried fruit and seeds on the cold side. I think there might have been some cheese and salami slices. I didn't try the pastries. It was ... fine. Not a £19 breakfast, but nothing bad. Possibly I don't understand how Brits like their breakfasts these days. I didn't try the coffee machine. It seemed unfortunate to have a big architected pool out front and leave its fountains switched off, even on the very pleasant and I assume relatively rare for Northern Ireland 25 degree days. The building seemed relatively empty of guests, so I'm not sure why the only rooms available seemed, like mine, to be for more people. Generally the place has a rather sad feel, but perhaps that's the surrounding economic climate more than the hotel itself. In any case, functional and friendly but not worth ~£200 a night.
