Charming Farmhouse in Gharb

It was a beautiful characterful place to stay. It had all the necessary essentials for a comfortable stay The swimming pool was definitely a bonus

This is a lovely, very well-equipped house in a quiet part of the village of Gharb, with great views from the roof terrace and a little suntrap of a courtyard where the pool is situated. Anthony was very helpful (he came within a few minutes to sort out a very minor issue), and the hamper of foodstuffs (and wine!) was very welcome - always a lovely touch from a friendly host. The house is very homely, with just about everything that could be needed (plenty of pans, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils, blankets, towels, cleaning stuff, etc. which some rental properties skimp on a little - it was great to find everything we needed) - and also beautifully built, with ornate touches of stonework (Anthony is a stonemason himself). The pool will be lovely on a hot summer's day, and the roof terrace too - sadly, as our visit was during a rather windy week in March, we couldn't benefit so much from them! Again because it was March, we had to go further afield to eat out (the restaurant/bar near the village square was closed during the off-season), but the bus stop is a minute's walk from the house and the hourly bus takes you to Victoria in less than 10 minutes - plenty of places to eat/drink, and of course frequent buses to everywhere else on the island. The shop 10 minutes walk away on the square in Gharb has a good variety of products (closed Sunday and around lunchtime), and there's also a bigger Lighthouse supermarket about 20 minutes walk away which is open all day including Sunday (near the Dbiegi craft village).

If I have to mention anything, the house was rather cold at night - but it's a stone house and it was March, so this won't be a surprise! I imagine it will rather be a bonus during the hotter months, so is not really a :( point - and there were plenty of extra blankets for us to use if needed, and air conditioning for the summer too.

Super Pool, schön dass er noch in Betrieb war um diese Jahreszeit, zwar erfrischend, aber super! Tolles Haus mit viel Platz und guter Ausstattung. Richtig gemütlich zum Wohlfühlen! Tolle Dachterrasse mit Grill und toller Aussicht!

Really quirky little house, great architecture and traditional decorations. Nice small outside space with a pool. Great personal touches from the owners, including welcome food pack. Convenient parking nearby. Very easy and enjoyable stay, thanks.

Super netter Gastgeber, Haus war sehr sauber. Toller kleiner Pool und super Dachterrasse! Auch sonst war alles da was man braucht, jederzeit gerne wieder!

Uns hat alles gefallen, evlt eine neue größere Pfanne - aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau.

Das Apartment hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Die Fotos wurden der Unterkunft nicht gerecht. Es gab einen Pool mit Whirlpoolfunktion, eine große Küche mit Esstisch und Aufenthaltsbereich. Darunter befand sich zusätzlich ein großer Aufenthaltsbereich im Keller. Außerdem gab es zwei Schlafzimmer und drei Bäder. Auch eine große Dachterrasse mit Grill war vorhanden. Die gesamte Unterkunft ist liebevoll und detailreich eingerichtet. Der Hausherr Tony hatte einen Willkommenskorb mit Toast, Eiern, Rotwein und sonstigen Allerlei vorbereitet. Die Nachbarschaft ist ruhig und idyllisch. Ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um die Insel zu erkunden.
