Hartbeest Bush Stay #3

Our two-nights stay at Hartbees Eco Bush Lodge was the perfect blend of serenity, comfort, and nature. The self-check-in was a convenience we appreciated, adding to the feeling of privacy and freedom. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Vincent, the ever-smiling maintenance guy, who shared the delightful news that our booking had been upgraded to one of their newly renovated cottages. We couldn’t have been happier. The cottage itself was a treat — beautifully designed with an eco-conscious layout and tasteful interior décor. We especially loved the in-house fireplace, which kept us warm and cozy during the chilly evenings. Unfortunately, the weather kept us from enjoying the outside hot bath, but that just gives us a reason to return.

The only small letdown was the bathroom basin being placed higher than usual, which made it a bit tricky to use.

Everything is as described

The pool was dirty

It was clean, secluded, safe and comfortable

There is no heater for cold days

Location is nice and chilled, easily accessible. Very private place

There is no microwave so leftovers are at the mercy of the gas oven. There was no wifi. When it was raining water came in through the window. The trees keep rubbing on the corrugated roof and makes an unpleasant sound the whole night. There was no prior information about the firewood hot bath, could have been a fun experience if we were told. The kitchen sink did not have a plug so it was kinda hard to do the dishes with running water. No DSTV, only boring Openview and the lack of wifi access made it more painful as we could have streamed something else.

I liked everything about the place, the staff was super helpful, thanks to vincent for being always there when needed. The facilities were clean, the place was exceptional, the photos provided aren't doing justice to what we saw in real life. It's a perfect place for unwinding

Nothing unfortunately

The unromantic, uncomfortable atmosphere. he property was not easy to find. The roads are very bad, but that is from the rain. The windows are broken, the beds are terrible. There is no instructions how to heat the "hot tub". There is only 2 sachets of coffee, you need to bring your own sugar and milk, so why bother putting coffee there. We absolutely did not enjoy it. It was meant to be a romantic weekend, but it is not a relaxing atmosphere. The deck is advertised with deck chairs, there are 2 canteen chairs. I wouldn't go again.

Quiet location, only good thing about it.

Very dirty and underwhelming. I understand the bush vibe but to not have windows and doors that open and close properly is unacceptable. There was rubbish left around the property and were told that cleaning staff hadn’t come even though we had been moved to a different room that was booked. There were also no lights and the floor was covered in water in the new room we were moved to. The owner is also exceptionally rude and unhelpful. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
