Grandma's Cabin by the Sea

We loved the location of the cabin under the Redwood and just a couple minutes from the beach. Super close to town, yet nestled away, were it felt timeless. The back deck was AMAZING to do yoga & practice Tai Chi under the canopy of Redwoods♡

It would have been nice to have an electric glass water kettle, since not everyone wants to heat their water for tea through a plastic coffee machine. The living room felt like it needed a tabletop height lamp, not only overheads, to create cozy feeling. These are small things, yet our stay was great and these items didn't take away from our positive experience.

The cabin is in a beautiful wooded neighborhood. The first morning we had two little deer visit us about 30 feet from the cabin.

There was no comfortable place to sit in the living room. There was a futon that was miserable to sit on instead of a couch. Once we sat down it was nearly impossible to get out of. There were 2 old chairs. The wi-fi didn't work and we called a few times but nothing was ever done to fix it. We spent 5 nights and if they really cared, it seems that would have been time enough to fix the problem. After a very tiring 6 hour drive, the door lock they told us to use didn't work. Luckily we were able to contact the owner and get a different code that worked. The few restaurants in the area were mostly closed.

I did not like fact that before I was even checked into the hotel. I was messaged by the property manager and asked to set the garbage cans out to the curb and bring them back in from the curb after empty. My understanding this house comes with a pretty pricey cleaning fee. I don't see why I would have an obligation to set the garbage out and bring it in from the previous tenant. Also, the neighborhood is a little sketchy with a lot of foot and bicycle traffic, back-and-forth to the neighbors. It's not very quiet and peaceful at night a lot of dogs barking all night long. Also, the description states that there's a barbecue on site. I found the barbecue on-site. I look for it but that was just another letdown. Furthermore, After checking out I requested for it invoice after my stay to produce to my employer for reimbursement. It's been five days and I still have not received a simple invoice email. Now it seems that the property management is either ignoring me or just unresponsive.

Nicely tucked away in the first bit close to amenities. I would recommend others to stay and I would stay again.

The location was great; in the forest but very close to town and beaches as well.

Only one suggestion; the sofa. It's a little uncomfortable, likely because it's also a pull out bed.

Great location, lovely house and amazing context! I was family friendly and our toddler enjoyed play in the woods. Thank you : )

The upstairs bed could be a bit more firm. The house was a bit cold initially, but the fireplace and space heaters helped a lot!
