Vito is a very friendly host who helped us with finding a parking space. He provided tips about good places to eat and what to do around. The apartment is on a very central location.

Vito is a super nice and helpful host and the apartment couldn’t be more in the centre than it is - highly recommended if you want to enjoy the night life of Palermo.

The apartment is spread on two levels and the owner lives in one of the rooms on the lower level. There are two bedrooms located on the upper level, the third bedroom and - sort of - living room are located on the lower level. The levels are connected by the open, insanely steep and tight stairs (not suitable for people with any kind of movement difficulties). If I had known, that the apartment is to be shared with the owner, I wouldn’t have booked it. There is very limited privacy, you can hear clearly the owner moving around, using a kitchen (which BTW is not available for guests) etc. There are no basic utensils - like plates or cutlery - available. I got them upon request “as an exception”. I was allowed to use one of the two upper level bedrooms with bathroom (the second bedroom was locked) and the terrace. According to the description on booking.com I booked and paid for a single use of the entire 60sqm, 3 bedroom penthouse apartment. I argued with the owner about it, but he stated this was the “apartment” I rented (the upper level I was allowed to use is roughly 20sqm). I find it simply dishonest, despite receiving a bottle of prosecco after expressing my opinion. The description on booking.com should be changed to reflect the reality. The only reason I decided to stay in this room was that I was very tired from the long travels and had my schedule fully booked for the coming days, thus no time for searching for other places or to move between the apartments. The owner speaks very basic English, so the communication was limited.

It has a nice balcony for your own use, a bathroom and a fridge in front of ur room. Decent location

That the host is sleeping there as well. I booked a whole penthouse apartment. Booking.com could not tell me the difference between two Option as the host offers one with no guarantee/money back and one you pay little more and get partially money back. On the whole host‘s website was never mentioned he lives there as well. This is booking.com not airbnb. Some people are traumatized and do not want to have a flatmate especially if you can not look your own room therefor you can also not lock the apartment entrance door because flatmate/host might come to the apartment at another time. This was a unpleasant surprise, which makes me now overthink to continue to use booking.com. I will rather choose straight hotels or airbnb. This was absolutely not ok! Beside that towels were clean as well as bathroom. Bedsheets were older and stained
