The view and location by the beach is excellent. The beds were clean. AC worked great. It's a short drive to the Cable car and Ferris wheel. It's really cheap, excellent value for money. For what you pay, you can't expect much better, it's excellent if you are on a budget and don't care about anything luxurious. However...

Just from a practical standpoint, the downsides were that the beds are rock hard. The floor is pretty dirty, our feet/socks were black within a few minutes of walking around the room. A pipe under the sink in the bathroom was leaking. There weren't many restaurants around or Grab opportunities. The most odd thing though was the owners would just randomly come in, a couple of times to get water from the tap, another time to measure a mattress. They were lovely about it, it wasn't obnoxious or anything, just not what I'm used to, and it meant I didn't feel like we had total privacy! But if you can get past these points, you'll have a lovely time, I can't state enough that it's excellent value for money.
