The Cabin at the Port

Very compact cabin, but inside is everything you need for a comfortable stay. I really appreciated all the extra little touches from the hosts that make it special, like the milk, bread, orange juice, butter and jam for breakfast etc. Stephen was very welcoming and responsive. There is Netflix available as well as TV channels, hairdryer etc.. Pets and kids friendly. Wonderful.

It was nice and quiet close to everything, very comfortable and clean, would highly recommend!. Will definitely be back!

I loved how proactive the host was, they were very friendly and really responsive to any messages we sent. The property was lovely and well looked after. Great location, perfect for bringing dogs with you and generally a pleasant stay!

There were no towels in the cabin for a shower, but the host did deliver some to us. It’s very minor but ideally these would be good to have as standard in the cabin

Stephen met us with the keys and welcomed us. When we went in we were very pleasantly surprised with the property. The hosts were more than good they had left milk and a fresh loaf of bread, there was teabags, coffee and sugar in the cupboards. Various different jams and butter in the fridge. Stephen even lit the wee stove for us the first night and left a supply of smokeless ovoids and kindlers for us the use the next night. There was a welcome pack which we did not see until we were leaving as it was in the bottom shelf of the trolley at the door, it gives you the Wifi password etc and general information, I moved it to the nest of tables so it would be more accessible, we just texted Stephen with any questions and he quickly replied. I had told the hosts on booking it was our wedding anniversary and the next day was my wife's birthday, so they left us a lovely chocolate cake and a bottle of wine. Wow not many hosts do that. Really anyone reading this it is a brilliant place and you will go far to get better hosts. Outside on the patio there is a large table and chairs, on our last morning we even had breakfast outside. Dogs are allowed we had our wee one with us and she was very much at home there.

The only minor thing was the hot water for the two sinks (kitchen & bathroom). Stephen explained it comes from the house and is only available in the morning, and there is plenty of it takes a minute or two to get to the taps but not a problem. We just used the water from the kettle to wash the dishes/cutlery, and cold water to wash your hands in the bathroom. The shower was perfect as it is and electric shower.

The wood burner was nice in the evening you bring your own lighter sticks & logs

Could be cleaner dust balls under T.V Around Shower tray wasn’t very clean could do with bleaching.

We’ve just spent two nights at the cabin and genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing. Stephen was incredibly accommodating from the moment we booked. I had asked for a few decorations as we were celebrating my husband’s 40th, and the cabin was beautifully decorated when we arrived , such a thoughtful touch. The place itself was spotless, cosy, and very well kept. It’s only about a 15 minute walk to the beach, which was perfect for us. We were also really impressed by the little extras provided: orange juice, bread, milk, tea, coffee, washing‑up liquid and more. It made the stay feel even more welcoming. I had also asked if firelighters and kindling could be left for us, and when we returned to the cabin later that day, they were waiting at the door, another example of the brilliant hospitality. We would highly recommend this place and are already looking forward to coming back.

Not a complaint at all but if I had to mention one small thing, a microwave or a little oven would have been handy. It didn’t affect our stay, just something that could make it even more convenient.
