The Cabin at the Port

Very secure , quiet place on the outskirts of Portrush. The cottage is finished to a high standard and was very clean.Host was helpful when encountering issues.

Partly down to decisions made by the host and booking.com information, but the cottage is too small for two double rooms. There is no room in the bedrooms to put luggage but fortunately we used the spare room (the bed to be precise) for ours. There are only two chairs in the seating area/lounge so if there are 4 adults staying there is nowhere to sit. The kitchen was small and had no oven or microwave, only a stove top. Not good if you are offering self catering. The host was kind enough to let us use their kitchen for cooking a chicken on our first night otherwise it would have been wasted (past its use by date). Really, this should be a one bedroom place with a bigger kitchen and storage for luggage. Towels are not offered but again the host provided these and there are no places to hang them to dry. In fact everything stayed damp although the weather played a role in this. Finally there are no mirrors near a plug to blow dry your hair and shaving in the bathroom proved a challenge as the mirror is to the side above the toilet and the washbasin is tiny, so preventing a mess is a challenge. Booking.com should have a "Bring with you " section as towels and shower gel was provided at all the other 5 places we stayed at on our journey. Fortunately we had soap and the host provided the towels but having a list of what is available doesn't tell you what is not there, some of which one takes for granted.

Amazing space which was perfect for a young family. Good comfy beds and outdoor space.

Just a small constructive piece of feedback would be to have a wee shelf in the bathroom and a sharp knife in kitchen.
