It’s a typical Japanese house.

There was no washlet.

The house was very spacious! We were a group of 3, but you could have many more members in your party before it felt like not enough space. Everything was comfortable and well explained. Lots of space and equipment in the kitchen for us to cook with, plus there was some food available for purchase on a table in the living room should we have not been able to get to a supermarket in time. The owner was also fabulous. She had seen that we had purchased some fireworks and the next day there was a bucket in the living room for us to put water in to put them out safely!

It's at the bottom of the island so a bit far from things, but it's Yakushima so I think people who come here are mentall prepared for that anyway. The parking space requires a bit of finesse to get into.

Yakushima is a beautiful island. If you stay here you'll definitely want to rent a car (there is a parking spot provided.) The hostess was extremely friendly and very helpful in giving us suggestions in what to do and keeping things tidy even while we were there. I would stay again given the opportunity.

Lovely host, amazing house, great location to walk to the hot springs

House was clean and spacious. The host was friendly, she made checking in very easy and has made everything so convenient at the house, with good cooking facilities and condiments you can use. She even came in each morning while we were out to change the towels (and let us know she would do this ahead of time). You can see a great sunset from the balcony upstairs.

I had the whole house to myself. Discounted food items available for sale, grocery store and Onsen (Hirauchi/yudomari) Yakiniku restaurant 👍👍 nearby, fully furnished equipped kitchen, and laundry, and wifi. "Turnkey" house, Ryokan style room. Nice and helpful host. I felt as if I was home away from home. Comfortable quiet atmosphere and beautiful structure house.
