Le Fare Pergola - Lagoon and Mountain view

Comfortable, spacious with air conditioning. Location is between Matira beach and the town where ferries run to the airport. Owner went above and beyond to help store my luggage after checkout even though they don’t have facilities onsite.

Maybe a bit challenging if you don’t have a car but I did manage to walk to a beautiful brach location.

Sam welcomed us to La Fare Pergola and was the best thing that happened to us as we had absolutely no French and he settled us in perfectly from finding a car, the best place to eat and the biggest highlight for us the Rosto Services tour of the entire island by boat including pick up and drop off taxi and a beautiful authentic lunch at the most beautiful island in Borabora Tevairoa. La fare had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. The air conditioning although just in the bedroom was perfect to come back to after a long day out in the heat and the location was nicely positioned between Matira beach and Vaitape.

There was no dining table to eat and or play a game inside other than what was available outside in the heat. The traffic, fighting dogs and outside noise took a little bit of getting used to on the first night, but eased off on the rest and without a car it’s a bit far from anything to do much. Some form of transport is key to getting around the island. There was also a cat that sprayed on our towels which we hung over the chairs because the clothes the line and rack could not hold the weight.

Location and facilities were perfect for an overnight stay before our early morning flight back to Papeete.

The lounge area was very warm - an aircon in this area would’ve been great but not a major issue as there was an aircon in the bedroom.
