One of the weirdest and most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had at a hotel happened during a 1 day work stay. I checked in around 3 pm, left my luggage in the room, and stepped out for work. When I returned around 7 pm, I noticed a plate of fruits on the table and was unsure if it had already been there when I checked in. I went to the reception to confirm and was told that hotel staff had entered my room after I left to place the fruits. What if I had been sleeping or showering? I was also told that this was the first time any guest had raised an issue about such a situation, which only added to my discomfort.
