Amazing 2-Bed City Centre Apt with Parking

They say you need a parking permit, which is in the flat, but we did not and we had to find parking. They charge £70 for cleaning, yet the flat was in disastrous condition and we had to cancel our stay there as we could not stand the smell, the dirtiness on the floor and around the house, Worse place I ever been to, the drawer from one of the rooms had dirty clothes in it.

Dishwasher advertised, no dishwasher; free parking advertised, received parking fine; tap not working; all blinds broken and strewn around; dining chair broken and discarded on balcony; cooker faulty; shower hose damaged; bath mildewed; window didn't open in small bedroom so unbearably hot; one of doors to balcony didn't open; clock needed new batteries; carpet badly stained; no instructions for appliances; no hot water at beginning of second day.

This third floor, two bedroom, small flat in a very quiet modern development suited my needs for my stay. The flat was pleasant enough although somewhat worn in parts. Having stayed in many short term rentals, I'd say its at the more basic end of the market. Communication with host was efficient and arrival instructions clear. On site allocated parking was a huge benefit and my primary motivation for selecting this place. I was surprised on booking that there was a £150 cash deposit payable, which I hadn't noticed when I selected the place. My responsibility for not noticing, but worth being aware of. The deposit was returned to me two days after my stay. The flat has a small balcony which is a nice amenity. The building/development was very quiet which I appreciated and the bed comfortable.

There were a few issues which if addressed would make all the difference. On arrival the flat was clean to an acceptable standard, However, the carpets in the flat are stained and grubby. I found that very off putting and nothing that a carpet shampooer wouldn't solve! The bathroom was clean but the shower hose broken and some evidence of water damage to walls etc. Again, it felt a little worn and uncared for. The electric panel radiator in the living room wasn't functioning and this did make the place feel cold at times. Radiators in other areas were functioning. The fridge was set to minimum but still managed to freeze everything I put in it! Clearly it needs replacing. The flat comes with an allocated parking space immediately in front of the rear entrance door to the building. Neither of the keys that I was given would open that door, meaning that I had to drag all my luggage out of the parking area, around the neighbouring building and enter by the front. Just inconvenient for me but could have been a bigger issue for others. Of course when leaving the building you can open this door from the inside. If these issues were not present I would have rated this place higher.

The Location was excellent for us , as we were working just across the car parks . We had the top floor which was a little hot but that was due to the extreme weather, opening all the windows sorted that as there was a breeze which helped aiding sleep at night. Pub just around the corner which served traditional pub grub which was a bonus.
