The harbour.

This is a factual account of our stay at The Mermaid. 1. Issues with the electrical system resulted in my husband receiving 2 severe mains electrical shocks! Despite continuous requests from the owner, there has been no paperwork to support her claims that this was the fault of electrical work carried out by the municipality. Nor have we had any reassurances this has been rectified and will not reoccur. 2. We experienced a lack of cleanliness in the property. The toilet seat was very loose, which we reported, and was duly fixed the following day. Surely if the toilet had been cleaned properly this would have been evident! There was a babies bottle behind the bed pillows, again, was the bedding actually changed? During our 6 night stay the property wasn’t serviced or cleaned, no fresh bedding or towels etc. This is unheard of in every other accommodation in the Greek Islands we have visited ….. ( over 30 islands ) 3. There was a lack of fundamental kitchen items ……. Only 1 dinner knife and only 1 pan compatible with the induction hob, for example. 4. The owner lives in Canada which makes communication inconvenient. There is no one at the property or nearby to address any issues you may have ( refer to Leon’s review 1 June 2022 ) Whilst the owner was communicative when we first raised these issues, it has been several weeks without any further communication from her. We are now considering legal action.
