Die Lage in Matira direkt an der traumhaften Lagune ist fantastisch. Die Unterkunft in dem kleinen Strandhäuschen ist modern, sauber, ganz einfach eingerichtet...und die Terrasse ist super. Großes Grundstück mit zwei weiteren Häuschen. Liegen zum entspannen, kleines Tor direkt mit Durchgang zum Wasser. Inmitten der Einheimischen, richtig toller Aufenthalt gewesen. Kleiner LebensmittelLaden in nur 5 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen sowie ein Restaurant und die Autovermietung. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Leider benutzen die Nachbarhunde (mehrere) das Grundstück als Toilette. Das Tor zum Wasser ist nicht zu schließen, da kommen sie rein und der Zaun hat Löcher. Soviel wir wissen, weiß der Eigentümer davon...ändert jedoch nichts. Schade...ist echt ein großer Minuspunkt.

Proximité idéale de la plage, des restaurants et d’une supérette — tout est accessible à pied, très pratique !

Voisinage un peu bruyant en raison des activités nautiques (location de bateaux, jet-skis, etc.).

Right on the beach

The place itself is simple but has everything required, generally it also appeared clean. The location is great, there are quite a few good restaurants in walking distance, a car rental agency with which we had a great experience, and also the access to Matita beach is great. While there is no sand where the house is located, there is a low stone wall after the fence, which when crossed end directly in the water. At this location, the water is sandy and shallow, and one can walk out far, which opens up a nice view of Mt Otemanu. We also befriended the local cat, who was super happy to have us there. Communication with the rental agency was good and friendly, they provided us with ample information for the check-in and also organized a taxi for us to be picked up at the pier.

Now the reason for the low rating... After check-in, we immediately explored the surroundings and did not unpack our things right away, thank God! We then went for dinner in a restaurant nearby and were back in the room at around 9 pm. Before going to bed, I was planning to wash the provided dishes, as they had black spots all over them (you might be able to guess what it was later). Doing this, I surprised a cockroach running over the kitchen counter. Fine, tropical locations can have cockroaches and Raid was provided. While fishing for the Raid, the cockroache disappeared inside the kitchen, apparently to meet a friend, because once I had the Raid in my hand, there were already two. I sprayed them, which caused many small roaches to appear from various other places, probably disturbed by the Raid (these small versions are called "nymphs", but you will learn the specific vocabulary when staying here). At this point, I called the rental agency to ask about the cockroaches. I was told it was normal, tropical location etc. When asking what to do with the kitchen, since everything was sprayed with Raid, I was told that we would have to clean everything ourselves, since a cleaning service would not be included. Upon insisting for someone to inspect the kitchen for cockroaches and to clean everything that was sprayed and covered in cockroach poop (the previously mentioned black spots), we were told that maybe this could be arranged the next day. So far so good. Since the night was ruined already and the kitchen counter mostly covered in Raid, we decided to take it a step further and turn the kitchen into a gas chamber - spray inside drawers and all storage spaces, close the doors to kill everything that was still around - BIG MISTAKE! Probably a minute after spraying everything, we could hear distinct scratching sounds coming from inside the kitchen, which got louder and louder.

This property is really great. Brand new with everything that you need to stay on Bora Bora, and you don't want to waste your money with overpriced resorts. Everything is within walking distance (grocery store, car rental company), and the beach is really just a few steps away. Also, you have enough privacy to spend time outside on the terrace. This is a no-brainer on Matira beach.
