I am extremely shocked and disappointed by my recent stay at a property I booked through Booking.com in Bahria Town, Lahore. Booking.com confirmed my total payment as Rs. 13,898, yet when we checked in around 3:00 PM, the host demanded Rs. 18,000 in cash, claiming the difference was due to city tax. Having travelled to 52 countries and used Booking.com for over a decade, I’ve usually found their properties reliable and trustworthy. This was an unprecedented and distressing experience. The host later messaged me suggesting that if I cancel the booking after staying three days, he would refund the extra amount. I was shocked — how can someone cancel a booking after staying? He insisted, saying he would “manage” it if I cancel. This clearly indicates an intention to avoid paying Booking.com commission, which is unethical and dishonest. To make matters worse: • The room was on the 5th floor with old lift, • The AC made loud disturbing noises throughout our stay, • The entire place reeked of cigarette smoke, making it highly unsuitable for families and especially unsafe for asthmatic patients. This host is not transparent. I have never encountered such manipulative behaviour in all my years of travel.
PKI recently had the pleasure of living in this exceptional apartment, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations in every way. The unit was immaculately maintained, with modern fixtures and appliances that made daily life a breeze. The spacious layout and abundance of natural light made it feel like a luxurious retreat.

No hot water(i could barely use shower as everytime i wanted to go for shower, i had to call caretaker to start motor as there was no water pressure. The hot water tank had only 15 liter capacity, so every time after 15 liter hot water used up, i had to wait 10 min in cold to let the water heatup again.
