Beautiful apartment!

The apt is in an ideal location for a traveller: 5 mins walking to the train station, 4 mins to the grocery store, 10 mins to the Old Town and best of all 5 min walk to the lake! And yet very quiet! This exceptionally spacious apt looks and feels like a traditional Italian home with more doors than rooms, tall ceilings, shutters on every window, and a beautiful terrace with a large outdoor dining set which provided our family with many hours of happy memories and meals! While traditional in decor, the kitchen and bathrooms are modern in style, immaculate, and fully equipped with lots of dishes, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The beds were comfy, including the 2 sofabeds in the living room. An added plus were the 2 bathrooms, both with showering possibilities. And the Welcome Bag from Rent Como was also greatly appreciated.

The only limitation I can think of for this apt is that there is no air conditioning, but given the number of windows and possible air circulation, and the ability to close the shutters during the day, it wasn't a problem for us even though it was very hot outside. And to be fair, it was not advertised as having AC.

We loved the location and the size of the apartment and loved having a large balcony. It also had a well equipped kitchen. Close to the San Giovanni station, the lake and the old town only one block over. Overall for exploring Como and day trips it was a great location. We caught the bus basically one block over to Bellagio and another day booked the Bernina express tour from Como and only had to walk 200 mtrs for the pickup. The supermarket ( Carrefour) is only 200 mtrs away. The WiFi was also reliable with great signal.

On the description it definitely says it has air conditioning, but it does not. Please don’t advertise it if you don’t have it. We chose this apartment because it had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and we were 2 couples from Australia. We were very disappointed on arrival to find that there is only 1 double bed in one room and a large single bed 120cm wide ( very firm) in the other room. Clearly they know this as they made up the lounge with the sofa bed for the 4th person so my husband slept in the bedroom and I in the lounge on the sofa bed which wasn’t great, especially if the other couple wanted to get up early. The second bedroom has plenty of space for a larger bed so we would suggest adding this to resolve this issue for future guests as until this is done his does not suit 2 couples. The main bedroom had a bathroom with a shower which is good. The second bathroom has a bath with what I describe as an old telephone tap set up with the hand held shower head which you can use over the bath but with nowhere the fix this to the wall to have a shower or not enough length in the hose makes it very hard. Also there is not a shower curtain to keep the water inside the bath / hand shower. Some other tips to improve this accommodation would be to include a clothes line on the balcony. There was a small rack provided but only suitable for socks and underwear.
