"The location has potential, but the cockroaches and mould are unacceptable."

We were visiting for the Travel Indaba and the the location is near the convention centre.

The unit is infested with cockroaches and there was mold in both the showers. The floor was not cleaned properly and the aircon units were not working. The fan was damaged and the room door lock was damaged and about to fall off. The location was very near the shipyard so there was the occasional loud ship horn blaring at strange hours. The keys were not secured on our arrival and could have been copied by anyone, leaving us feeling unsafe in a city that we were not familiar with. We contacted the hosts and they sent a housekeeping team, however all they did was spray insecticide, which did not resolve the mould and we still had to contend with cockroaches for the stay. The fan and door was eventually fixed as well, however the aircon was never fixed and the repair job was rushed and looked untidy.
