Our trip on the boat was fabulous the staff and venue were brilliant. Our guide around the sites was ok. Although he was knowledgeable about Egyptian history his explanations were basic.

Non posso onestamente dire che qualcosa mi sia piaciuto.

Partiamo col dire che non si può sapere quale sia la nave fino al momento in cui ci si imbarca. Non si può nemmeno sapere quale cabina sia, chiaramente. Noi abbiamo avuto la sorpresa di avere la cabina affianco al reparto motori: non abbiamo dormito la prima notte per lo smog che avevamo in cabina. Abbiamo chiesto di cambiarla, ci è stato risposto che era impossibile, la nave era piena. Hanno spruzzato del deodorante, e ci hanno detto che questo era tutto quello che si poteva fare. La nave era vecchia, la cabina aveva la moquette vecchia e sporca, le tende erano praticamente nere dallo scarico dei motori. Quando poi siamo stati in navigazione, essendo sopra ai motori, le vibrazioni erano infernali. Attenzione poi, nel prezzo NON sono inclusi gli ingressi ai sito archeologici, che sono tantissimi. Attenzione anche che se pensate sia una vacanza rilassante vi sbagliate di grosso: la sveglia è obbligatoria sempre prestissimo, alle 3,30 per Abu Simbel, alle 5,30 il giorno dopo e alle 6 l’ultimo giorno, con check-out alle 6.30! Il cibo era decente, ma il ristorante aveva un odore di aglio/griglia costante. Ogni volta che ci andavamo abbiamo dovuto docciarci e cambiarci dopo. La guida era carina, parlava inglese (a modo suo…) ma era abbastanza preparata. Non molto approfondite le descrizioni. Tutti si aspettano mance. Sempre. Ovunque. Ad esempio il ragazzo che riassetta la camera, la reception, la guida, il tassista, la signora dei massaggi (!), i ragazzi dei bagni pubblici (sporchissimi sempre), gli autisti vari. Questo suppongo però che faccia parte dell’essere turista da spennare in un paese come l’Egitto.

The tour we booked was well organized and the busses and boats to the places were of exceptional quality. Our guide was always reachable, helpful and informative. The itinerary was planned well too. The boat was very clean and pretty. Shampoo, body lotion and shower gel were provided and good quality. Cleaners offered to clean the room every morning.

I got a food poisoning from the food right at the first day. Most of the food was bad, the bed not comfortable, the toilet paper too thin and the bar had nothing good and only one type of tea which was bitter. In the description, tips are marked as optional, but we were requested obligatory by the guide to pay a 25$ tip per person. The shower had no hand shower and was inside of a small tube that was uncomfortable and didn't have a closure. Once there was no hot water for an entire day. The room was also very small. During the tour I was kicked out of the organization WhatsApp group because I sent a link to a hot air balloon ride to help the others after it was cancelled. I was called an intruder by a guide!! The staff talked poor English, lied a lot, didn't care about us as customers and each asked for tips at the end.

4 giorni intensi ma bellissimi. La nostra guida Talaat è stato fantastico. Incredibile esperienza tutto organizzato benissimo.

however i did not find the guide to be very informative in ancient egypt - may be its also a cultural thing that it irritates me every time he kept asking to pay $25-$30 per person as tips even before the trip started
