"The most unique and memorable place I’ve ever stayed!"

10.0

The property is a phenomenal ancient building - completely unique! Even though it’s steeped in historical quirks it still an incredibly comfortable place to stay. We loved the wonky floors and walls. The beds are superb and the kitchen and bathrooms have very modern fittings. The location is also very central and you can get anywhere in Stratford in 10-15 minutes on foot. The owners were very helpful and communication was always prompt. I would love to go back again!

Absolutely loved everything about it! My only slight warning would be that if you were not physically able to negotiate narrow stairs and deal with uneven surfaces then it might not be for you.

"Lovely stay in such a historic building - well worth the visit"

9.0

Fantastic house if you like period properties and you know what you are getting - shows off the history nicely and much of the furnishings support the feel. Really good experience of staying up and just chilling in this amazing historic building, original exposed plaster work, every door amazingly opens and closes perfectly with not a single angle that makes sense, crazy walls bent out of shape with age, kitchen modern enough to retreat to after a day out and cook up dinner. Central to many of the key visitor attractions in the area.

Parking is for a single car, so if you have more than one car for your party, you will need to find parking in local public car park, and be aware of the parking restrictions or you could end up with a ticket. Due to the age of the property and original features, the living room area was a little cold - not wanting to start up the log burner (i didn't want to be the man that burned down this wonderful historic property) we luckily had blankets with us. It was early in the year, so still in the clutches of winter. If you are more confident about your fire skills and not burning down the property, there is a log burner and a fair price on wood to burn.

"A magical treat spending the night with history."

10.0

The house is almost 450 years old and a living part of history. Even though the building is so old, it has been updated inside and well furnished without taking away at all from the historic integrity of the place. The location on the edge of the old town makes touring Shakespeare sites and shopping and dining incredibly convenient.

Nothing not to love.

"Immersive olde worlde experience within walking distance of all that Stratford has to offer."

9.0

Clear instructions for arrival and getting in. Perfect location and able to immerse yourself in Shakespeare’s world. Beautifully decorated and well furnished.

The write up was completely correct so it wasn’t a surprise but the staircase is narrow and upstairs is very uneven.
