Historical Loft in Santa Ana: The Soul of Panama

I had everything I needed for a stay of 6 nights. It is just as you see in the pic: bed, sofá, another sofá, kitchenette, etc.The owner and caretaker were very accommodating and made a couple changes to make sure I was comfortable and felt at home. I was able to communicate with them which I appreciated. For me they went beyond the call of duty. The supermarket was a few steps away and so were other shops. The people of Panama are friendly and helpful. I had a good experience.

No water on our night. Next door Room was loud during the night.

The lock is a bit difficult on the apartment door. Also the key for the first gate was not working.

I would have liked a heads up of when someone was coming to collect the money.

Amazing property, clean, very close to Old town, 10 min walking distance. The inside buildings architecture it is kinda cool. Authentic experience in Panama City due to location of the building.

We had a room at the back so very quiet. Close to mega grocery department store and Coca Cola cafe world heritage site. Let us drop our luggage off early.

Bed had a dip in the middle. Kitchen had everything but very tight conditions.

Gorgeous historical loft, very comfortable with everything you need. Supermarket, pharmacies, and shops just outside the door.

The building is located on a pedestrian-only street, so it’s not possible to access the building by car/taxi/Uber, which is very difficult if travelling with luggage. It’s a local neighbourhood but very questionable area - two separate Uber drivers warned me of safety in the area, including one who parked the car and very kindly insisted on walking me to the door so I wouldn’t walk alone after dark. As a solo female traveller, I would not stay in the location again, and I wouldn’t have chosen it if the listing had clarified that it is only accessible by foot.

Pros-equipped kitchen, beautiful and large space, nice outdoor space, location (I enjoy being in local neighborhood but if you are unfamiliar with the city do a little research before so you aren’t surprised & act rude), safe building and street, laundry onsite

Cons- owner slow to respond, didn’t change or bring me extra garbage bag for over a week so I had food in unit getting smelly, wifi doesn’t work outside of room so I couldn’t work on patio or balcony, very strong mold smell because a/c unit needs to be cleaned, floors were so dirty my feet turned black in 5 minutes (need to mop)
