As my boyfriend and unlocked and slowly opened the doorwe were greeted with the sight of a very cleansmelling, pristine looking apt. When we went to see where we would shower. We were amazed at how big the dual shower was. Oh, the possibilities.

The only downfall of the whole evening were two things. The air conditioner even though she was giving all she could. It wasn't enough. My boyfriend sweats like a whole in church. And when I went outside to indulge in one of my many vices. The only place to sit were two mismatched cheap looking plastic chairs. But I made do. I sat down smoking, while staring at the cement bench that was lopsided due to broken legs. Amidst the dead foliage that decorated the driveway.

Although I booked this location, on the scheduled date of arrival the management company informed me that the A/C was not working properly so I was given the option to stay at an affiliated property, The Banks. I only had a few hours notice & I had been pleased with the other offerings for prior stays. So I rolled the dice (with few other options) and went with The Banks. This was by far one of the worst stays I had ever had — and this includes in the long distant past staying at what amounts to a flop house for work when no other options existed. Out of the 6 nights, I got maybe 1 good night of rest. It turned out that my next door neighbor was a fan of wrestling and low frequency bass — disastrous combination when the property is essentially elevated bungalows units with all parking underneath. The building in essence acted like a big speaker box, augmenting the bass at all times up to 3 or 4am, all the while interspersed with the unbelievably loud noise of metal clanging down a 13 foot flight of stairs as the occupant continually reenacted wrestling moves that he was watching. This also continued until 2am or so every night too. At least one other person went directly to said neighbor and asked him to turn down the music the first night I was there…that worked for about 15 minutes only for the occupant to reverse course and turn the music up louder as if to send a message. This continued nightly for the entirety of my 6 night stay. It was nearly excruciatingly unbearable. Traumatizing almost. Seriously. Word of advice if you are offered The Banks, politely yet emphatically decline the offer. Don’t worry — you’ll thank me for it. At least this stay finally was my wakeup call to correctly push Houston to the side and focus on much better environments — Austin that is and I have felt much better & healthier ever since. The Banks is no bueno, trust me.
