Dar Al Mardi Fes

Abd al-Ali was a wonderful host. He answered all our questions, arranged transportation, and overall made sure we had everything we needed. Our fight arrived an hour late but he stayed up late to help us get settled in. The facility is close to a gate in the old city which makes it easy to access. It is in easy walking distance from the major attractions in the medina. Highly recommend Dar Al Mardi for your stay in Fes.

Good communication with the host

Our stay at this Riad was truly enjoyable. The host is incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests. The room was simple but nice, and in the morning we had a delicious breakfast prepared by him. We also took the desert tour he recommended, and it was a fantastic experience.

The only downsides were that the restaurant he suggested the first night was quite expensive, and the shower wasn’t very comfortable.

This review is about the apartment, not the seperate guest rooms. Its big, comfortable, has some style and is located near the Medina. The owner is kind and helpful. But...

...its not an apartment at all. You have the 3 guest rooms and the big livingroom of the hostel all for yourself. The promised kitchen is shared with the owner. Owner lives in a room opposite the kitchen with his wife and baby. There is a big open space above the door between the 'apartment' and the kitchen, so you can hear everything of each other. It lacks the privacy of a real apartment.

Right in the walls of the famous medina of Fez, comfortable accommodation with a very kind guest who made a perfect breakfast for us. Wish we could stay longer, but so much place to see in Morocco.

The owner was very responsive and prompt in communication prior to our arrival, which made the check-in process smooth.

- The breakfast was okay but did not include coffee. - The toilet flush did not work properly. Although the host attempted to fix it, the issue remained unresolved. - The rooms have very thin walls, making it difficult to sleep due to noise from neighboring rooms (e.g., snoring). - The bed quality was poor, with a noticeable dip in the lower back area that caused significant discomfort and a backache. Additionally fyi - parking nearby costs 40 DH per 24 hours, and transporting luggage to the hotel via handcart adds another 20 DH. I think this feedback would apply to anyone renting a car and staying near the medina.

We had an amazing stay at Dar El Magri in Fez! The place is fantastic, with excellent facilities and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hot water was reliable, and the accommodations were clean and well-maintained. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional hospitality. The staff treated us with such kindness and care, always making sure we were comfortable and happy. It truly felt like a home away from home. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fez – it’s a gem!
