Great, spacious apartment in a fabulous location. Right in the centre of Machico with the beach and restaurants very close by. The apartment had everything we needed - spacious living and dining area and a very well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed taking a break from ‘holidaying’ to cook some home-cooked meals and it was made easy by having access to plenty of cooking equipment. The kitchen is modern and having both a dishwasher and washing machine was a huge plus for us. The bathroom is large, modern, and has lovely lighting. Two supermarkets (Pingo Doce and a very large Continente) are nearby to provide all the groceries you need. The nearby beach is beautiful and there are a handful of restaurants and kiosks nearby where you can grab something to eat. The host was very friendly and helpful during our stay.

The apartment is on the ground floor so can sometimes be noisy with foot traffic. From the outside it actually appears more like a shopfront with Madeira advertising on the front, so the large windows do not absorb outside noise very well, and there are lights around the building that shine into the apartment (these are okay in the bedroom where there are thick floor-to-ceiling curtains, but there is nothing to shield this light in the kitchen/living/dining area. The mattress and pillows are also very thin and could do with an upgrade (or even just having 2 more pillows available for extra comfort when sleeping). We also had no hand soap throughout the apartment for our stay, but that was no huge bother, we just bought some from the supermarket.

This property was super near the beach and had lots of cute areas nearby that you could explore. The property itself was very modern, well-equipped and clean. I had a pretty bad problem with the door (which was due to the wind blowing its hinges) but Andre was around to help within 2 minutes of me texting him and then sorted out the problem within the hour.

I was locked in for about an hour and a half which wasn’t ideal but got fixed super fast - single paned walls meant there wasn’t much insulation from noise or (severe) winds but these were minor things in the grand scheme.

Great position just few steps from the beach, very easy to comunicate with the owner for check-in procedure, good plus the free parking (please consider that you have space for a small/medium car and you need to be very good driver in parking). It is clearly an apartment for inside use (sleep, cook, etc.) there is not a proper outside area to enjoy.

The apartment is not very bright, not natural light, few windows in the upper part of the wall...(probably it was a garage or a shop before). I think that is very good for days discovering the area of Machico, maybe a little problematic if you want to enjoy and relax outside.
