"DO NOT STAY HERE! CURRENTLY NOT FIT FOR HABITATION"

I'm sad to say this property is not fit for habitation. We left immediately and booked another property through Airbnb. I have tried to get a refund from Booking.com and was offered £40. I advised Booking.com this was not acceptable and have heard nothing. I am now going via my credit card to get a refund. The property is in a beautiful location and with a bit of love and attention it would make a great place to stay, unfortunately in its current state I would not recommend. You can see from the photos how badly this property has been neglected.

I think the location is perfect. A very short walk to Sainsbury's and the gym which is also great, but also quite secluded and quiet. Its also not too far from the city center which was also great.

I didn't like that the facility was undergoing some renovation work. So, the stairs were clearly not finished with the repair works and the only toilet didn't have a cover area for the flush basin, so the host had to be communicated about that. The additional thing were not being properly instructed ahead of time of the use of solar energy and what to do if the hot water goes off. It could have been explained that there was no central heating and the alternative were space heaters in each room. Notwithstanding, when these issues were raised with the host, there was a prompt response that was extremely professional to and things were explained very clearly.

"Just what we needed."

They were pet friendly and with the lockbox there was no drama checking in when we arrived late at night. The cupboards had all sorts of handy essentials (oil, flour, spices) and the kitchen had everything we needed including a blender which was a nice surprise. We saved loads of money and time because we didn't have to run to the shops for e.g. nutmeg. I am not sure why some of the past reviews are lukewarm/negative, the place matches what was described in this listing and it's a fair price for the location, walking distance to all of St Alban's nicest sites, pubs, restaurants. Being a newer build the walls are thin but we didn't hear much from the neighbours, and it's nice that the two bedrooms in this property not adjacent to each other (separated by bathroom).

Good tv and internet

Dirty, dusty, cobwebs, shower rubbish, bed unclean bed uncomfortable, in disrepair a really poor property kids got covered in gloss paint and have ruined clothes
