Apartments2Stay I Porto - Flores

- Nicely designed interior (and pretty building) - Excellent location - Friendly owner/manager - Keyless entry made things easy - Beds felt comfy - Cot, bath, and high chair for baby (excellent for a family with a young baby) - Coffee machine, nice cutlery, nice cups/plates/etc

- I really enjoyed the music played by street performers outside in the evening but I could imagine noise-sensitive people might not like that aspect.

The location of this apartment is superb. It is really right in the center or the heart of the old historic town and it’s easy to walk everywhere from here. It is a pedestrian street so there is virtually no traffic except for a taxi now and then that has access. With that, there are a lot of restaurants below and street singers that sing all day and late into the night sometimes, so if your windows are open, it’s a little noisy, but it’s also a little refreshing. It did not bother us at all, and we had the windows open the whole time we were there. The apartment was extremely clean and well-maintained. Everything was in great working order and we had absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The host were very easy to contact and kept in contact with us the whole time. Also giving us a lot of local recommendations. Check in and check out was extremely smooth, and they were also kind enough to hold our luggage early when we got there and then late the day we left to come back for it , the area is extremely safe and I think one of the best areas to stay in all of Porto. Walking wise, we could get from our apartment over the bridge to the middle of Gaia in roughly 12 min. We are big walkers, and this was the absolute perfect location to go every direction. You would not regret to stay here.

The only things we should know here is that the bed is very firm. I personally did not enjoy the bed but some people love a firm mattress so you can never make everyone happy. Another thing to note is this apartment is on the second floor and there is no elevator. Very typical of Europe, but if you were a couple with a lot of luggage or you don’t like stairs, there are 51 stairs up and down to this unit each time you enter or leave. Again, very typical in Europe, but just good to know if that’s a dealbreaker for you. The final thing is the water. The water is too hot and scalding. You have to be extremely careful even washing your hands.

Hosts were extremely helpful in settling in and with advice on getting around, including some great recommendations for a wine-tasting venue. They were highly responsive throughout the stay. The apartment is cozy and superbly located downtown, yet in the rear, so there is no noise at night. My absolute favorite stay in Portugal was here.

Nothing (since we were lucky enough to figure out in advance a car in Porto is insanity).

Portable AC, so we had to keep the door open. with a vibrant, loud street, Don't expect to sleep before 12 am. It was too hot to turn the Ac off.

Location was excellent and the hosts were nice.

Late check in. 4pm after traveling with a family of four through airports and the city is harsh.
