minster bells a bit loud

Nice compact Georgian terrace home, bigger than it looks from the outside. The front room was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped. Two bedrooms on the first floor and a large third in the attic with a nice big bathroom with shower and tub. The added supply of ear plugs was a nice and welcome touch, as the property is right next to the Minster, whose bells peel every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day.

THE BELLS!! We knew where we were booking, but to be honest, had forgotten how loud and often the bells from the Minster were, and this is our fault, not the properties. You should be very clear that this property is less than 20 meters from the Minster and the bells toll every quarter hour, with each quarter being slightly longer until the full peel on the hour. Unfortunately, the timing is off by 8 minutes, so don’t try and set your watch by it. Despite the bells (or maybe because of them) we did enjoy ourselves there. It is a quirky little house, and yes, I would stay there again

The beds and sofa were comfortable

on arrival there was no heating or hot water. The parking was not clear and we struggled to find a space to park. The property is single glazed throughout and offered no muffling to the continuous church bells and people leaving the pubs. There are no curtains at the property only thin blinds and the minster is lit throughout the night. all of the cutlery is stored in a pile in one drawer that falls onto the floor. in the double bedroom on the first floor it is difficult to get in and out of the bed as the bed just about fits the dimensions of the room

Beautiful and well maintained decoration, comfortable bed and sofa, linen and towels clean and soft. Home from home, would visit again.

Great central location, and the on street parking was good, we managed to park on Highgate. Nicely decorated and well equipped kitchen with comfortable beds.

The bells! Every 15 mins day and night, excepted through the day but not through the night aswell.

Decor & furnishings were tasteful. The facilities were excellent. The hosts were very helpful. The location was perfect, as we were part of a visiting choir singing at Beverley Minster. The photo shows us having an extra practice!

The bottom step of the first set of stairs didn't seem to be the same height as the others - which confused us a few times.
