Elegant 4-Bedroom House with Parking, 5 Minutes from Southend Station

The place was infested with flies. There was a strange smell which was being masked by plug in air fresheners. My guess is they recently fumigated this place and there might be some dead animals in the walls. 2 guys got severe migranes and nausea and had to get new hotels. One guy had to sleep downstairs because something was messing up with his sinuses. One of the upstairs bedrooms had visible mold. When we texted the host about the flies, she didn't respond. I don't think it was healthy for anyone to stay in there.

The rooms were spacious, and the heating was toasty downstairs. Parking directly outside property was very convenient for unloading and loading luggage. Great, quick communication with host. There are a couple of shops across the road for some simple groceries. A short walk to the seafront and shopping centres, as well as larger supermarkets.

There was a very bad smell in the conservatory when we arrived. The cleaners even left the windows open for this reason. We did not use the room during the stay as a result of this. The property is generally fine, but could do with some freshening up, such as fresh paint work and patching up some bits on the wall etc. The shower screen was also not water tight so we had to dry up the floor every time. The bedroom doors were quite creaky, which is not usually an issue but as we were staying with a light sleeping toddler, this was a problem for us. The kitchen was generally well stocked, but we were left with quite a dirty washing up sponge and no spares.

Great location, plenty of room, allowed dogs.

Lounge small with no view , sofa not very comfortable . Artificial grass in back yard unsuitable for dogs .

Spacious front bedroom . Nice back garden.

Only 1 bathroom when advertised as having 2 . Advertised as Southend but is in Westcliff-On-Sea. Disappointed in house ground floor not spacious and found a lot of faults overall

The central location was good, and the rear outdoor space was surprisingly relaxing. The rooms seemed clean. It was perfectly adequate for our needs.

The renovation & particularly the standard of painting was awful, the rear garden was adequate but more of a yard. The neighbourhood was entertaining, with a number of incidents with the locals arguing with each other.
