Villa Renes, with a private pool

Smelly bins opposite pool. Dead mouse under bed. Infested with ants all over the bed. Nothing to do. No manual saying about area and what to do. Microwave sparks came from it so could not use and no fire extinguisher or fire blanket or smoke alarms. No freezer just a shelf and we went shopping and spent a lot on frozen food we had to throw away as no where to put it. We paid for a cleaner but to have a half eaten mouse underbed and infested with ants! Not good enough so we want some money back! Batterys dead in aircon and outside fans so purchased new ones to our cost. The host came over when we complained about ants and sprayed some stuff then told us where to buy more spray if they come back! He didn't leave one for us so we paid out yet again. It seemed a effort if we complained. The poo smell in mornings was vile we need another holiday as this just left us skint and upset. We left the property emasculate and even stripped bed and washed towels and bedding. Even purchased some tea mugs and a drainer all left there for them to keep. The bbq was filthy yet had the cheek leaving a sign saying clean after use, we couldn't use the thing it was rotten.

Very comfortable, exceptionally clean, everything you could want in a self contained villa. Fabulous garden area and pool, shaded areas if you don't want the sun, private driveway for the car. It is a quiet location even though it's a golf resort, but the motorway network is 2 minutes away, with Murcia 10 minutes away and the beaches at San Javier and Cartagena only 20 minutes. The fabulous Gastrobar 6 Sentidas is less than 2 minutes walk, with good food, drinks and entertainment. We never made it to the golf club bar. There are other local restaurants but you need to drive, although no more than 5 minutes. The villa itself is obviously newly refurbished, decorated, and furnished to a high standard, with all the cooking facilities you could want if you don't want to eat out. Rooms are spacious, beds are very comfortable. The pool is a good size, clean and well looked after. Plenty of outdoor seating, sun areas etc. The garden area is private with high walls or tall trees around it. This was a last minute booking for us when we decided to change areas after a few weeks, and we are very glad we chose Villa Renes. If you want an action packed holiday then this probably isn't for you, but if you want a relaxing time away in a lovely villa then it is. We thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a residential as well as a leisure resort, but it is gated with security and feels very safe as well as being quiet. Nothing was too much trouble for our booking contact or for the local agent Patrick. Thank you for an enjoyable 2 week stay.

Nothing not to like, but from a personal perspective a couple of bedside table lamps would have made things more perfect, but only because we like to read in bed before sleeping and there was only the main light in the bedroom. This is not a negative, just a personal opinion and does not detract from our full marks rating.
