It was quiet and relaxing. Highly recommend. The roof top sitting area was wonderful. The fire place during a cold night was perfect. The snack in the room was nice as well.

Located in the heart of Carthage. The patio area was very nice to sit out in the evening. Very clean. The preservation of the originality of the building, the wood work and the lighting was beautifully designed. We stayed in two different rooms. The larger suite is definitely better if traveling with a child. Very spacious.

Located on the second floor (no elevator) but those steps led to a beautiful suite. Would be a challenge to stay there if elderly or disabled.

The snacks and coffee in room were nice to have. The bed was very comfortable.I liked having the refrigerator and microwave, as well as access to the outdoor patio- very peaceful and comfortable. I enjoyed the quiet…. until my final night stay.

I had to get up at 3am on my morning departure to catch a flight in Jackson at 7am. Unfortunately, Chipley booked a party in their event space that included a band which played music SO LOUD that my room was vibrating. The sound testing was around 7pm… I called management and they told me there would be an event and that “quiet time” would not begin until 10pm. I expressed my displeasure at having a good night sleep sabotaged by the extraordinarily loud music and the effect it would have on my next day travels. I expressed my disappointment in their lack of respect for the hotel guests who were staying just above the event area. The volume and amplitude of the music was quite rude. She responded by saying that the owner had been contacted and promised to refund my last night’s stay. I stated my appreciation for that and would look for the refund on my credit card statement. If they provide the refund as promised, and guarantee a change in their policy for a quiet hotel for their guests, I will consider staying there in the future. I also noted bees living in the cracks of the window sill of my room #3 that should be relocated and cracks sealed, and the hairdryer switch was broken- only usable by plugging into the socket and turned off by unplugging the unit…. replace the hairdryer. Little things do matter in the quality of your establishment.

Wonderful rooms, big beds, great showers, TV, coffee... and very unique. An unbelievable back deck to enjoy a beer.

Very clean, great location and a nice getaway that wasn’t really far from home!!
