Lakeside cabin in Thingvellir #2

The location and size of the cabin is great. Out of the way from everyone with only one road in and out, it's quite steep and can get very icy/snowy in winter so hire a 4x4.

A few light bulbs were out and the door handle to the bedroom fell off.

We felt like we were the only ones within a number of miles of this beautiful location! It was so lovely to spend some quiet and relaxing time in a very cozy house/cabin with all of the comforts of home. It was still very close to so many great sights, so a great location in more ways than one. Having a kitchen was amazing for saving money on food, and having enough space for us all to spread out at night, but still relax and watch tv together in the evenings, was great. My 3 and 5 year old loved it, too. This was by far the highlight of our accommodations in Iceland and I only wish we had stayed longer!

It would have been nice to receive the actual directions and/or GPS coordinates further ahead of time since we did not have internet access after leaving our previous accommodations. More specific directions on how to find the particular house we were in would have also been helpful as we were unaware there were four different houses, and that this one was all the way at the bottom of the driveway. We could not find all of the parts of a coffee maker, so that would have been nice. Lastly, a washer/dryer in the house would have made this place truly perfect!

A great cabin in a very nice location, with a beautiful view over the lake.

The road to the cottage sometimes was a bit bumpy, but it was being worked on when we where there.

Quiet, lakeside cabin. Out of the way of traffic, private, rustic hideaway. Felt a million miles from everything, but quick drive to sights and town.

Cleanup included trash disposal that is a little tricky on the way to the airport.

A beautifull house with an amazing view. I could recommend everyone to stay in this house!
