Hotel on the Cay

I loved the privacy. I also felt very safe. The staff was super friendly

That I had to leave. I can't wait to go back.

not being charged 25 dollars extra a night for an energy surcharge/fee. That seems excessive considering how old your appliances are and nothing is updated. I love the no frills, and dont mind the rust on the fridge, or the chipped floors or the worm out laminate, or the metal doors that dont close well for the regular nightly rate. But for the extra money, I find it to be insulting.

Everything was pretty good. Kitchenette was nice. Not a perfect property but adequate overall. Can't beat the location. Bed was comfortable and that's a big part of any stay.

One has to check'in at the sister hotel kn the mainland before hopping on the small ferry ride to the cay. I was too early and told to wait until 3pm. No problem this happens sometimes. Just after 3pm, I checked in and paid. I was then told that I was not at the Hotel on the Cay as there was a problem and I had been moved to the sister hotel. They could not tell me what the problem was! I had booked a superior double room with two double beds, fully equipped kitchenette, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffe/tea making facilities, ensuite, balcony. I got a far lesser standard room! One bed double room, fridge, ensuite, that's it! No microwave, no coffee/tea making, no kitchenette, no balcony. I went to reception and stated this but they could not do anything! I have since email'd, msg'd direct & via Booking.com my concerns a few times. Nothing back at all. Very unprofessional outfit. I was on holiday from the UK, this is totally unexceptable. Especially as the problem was already known prior to me checking in but they failed to inform me until I checked'in & paid. I should have been told upfront and given available options before paying and being booked into a lesser standard hotel room. I would not reccommend this hotel company.

The staff was friendly

The hotel is outdated and the rooms need to be remodeled, furniture replaced, painted and there is no kitchen. There is a toaster oven, microwave and mini fridge

Very comfortable beds, great AC, kitchenette with fridge and microwave, an adventure via boat  to get there each day - we were never charged the $5 fee so kept tipping the captains

Tried to upcharge reservation by $200, run down/in need of reinvestment, terrible wifi, hunting for parking each day "on the mainland"

The staff was excellent!
