"Passable, but not enjoyable!"

5.0

The best part of this place was the location. The hosts were quick to reply to my messages. The kitchen amenities were good, we were happy with the items provided to us for cooking at home. The bed was comfy, sheets felt like clouds.

If we had stayed here for only a few nights, I would have given it a much higher rating but we stayed for 15 nights, and I regret booking it. The place is an old house split into 5 different apartments; a basement, two on the ground floor and two on the top floor. We were on the ground floor with the basement apartment below us and another apartment above us. I don't fault the hosts for an old house, however it is not what I expected. The noise was absolutely awful - people walking above us made the ceiling constantly creak, and I'm sure the folks below us could hear us walking too. I could hear phone conversations at a normal volume from other apartments. There were multiple nights were guests were being loud, yelling and screaming (the ones above us were screaming at each other at 3.30 am one night), and it was absolutely horrible. The hosts said they would speak to them, but of course its a revolving door. When one issue of noise was resolved, there would be new neighbors checking in. I did not enjoy this and I understand the hosts can't control their guests but it made for a very unpleasant stay over the course of two weeks. Hosts offered to move us to another one of their properties but it turns out nothing was available. If I hadn't pre-paid for the two weeks, I would have checked out and into a hotel after the first few nights there. Bathtub not suitable for anyone with even a remotely slight disability as you have to really climb up into the tub. Toilet had issues, we had to call for plumbing help twice, which someone came promptly but I just think the toilet was crappy (pun intended) and we were constantly taking the back off to fix the water pump as it wasn't filling up the tank as it should.
