The Livery Cottage at Cefn Tilla Court, Usk

Facilities were great. Beds comfortable and everything was spotless.

Only a small thing but the WiFi signal isn’t enough to do anything. We had 5g but it meant the tv couldn’t get any signal to listen to music or anything. Some way to stream to the tv from phone or to a speaker would’ve been handy. Like I say only small niggle.

Beautiful location. Lovely place to stay. Well laid out & decorated. Loved the 2 bathrooms, showers fantastic! Clean but a few lurking cobwebs in the corners found when plugging electricals in or turning on lamps. Will stay again.

Extensive information left about the property & the fact that the wi fi was slow but it wouldn't run the very large smart TV so as far as we were concerned it may as well not have been there if it isn't able to be used properly - buffered every few seconds.... No hooks anywhere - so no where too hang towels near either showers or under stairs for coats to be hung if bad weather.

loved the cottage. clean, tidy. good size. comfortable. perfect for what we needed. staff friendly.

unable to use bedside lamps in 2nd bedroom - plug sockets behind behead but unable to reach. made going to bed/getting up during night tricky. velux window blind wouldn't stay down when window open even a crack. no lock on downstairs shower room. towel hook needs replacing in downstairs shower room. downstairs shower room needs a lick of paint. door very sticky to property. could do with teatowels in the kitchen. one plate and one teaspoon missing from kitchen. instructions on how to use microwave would be helpful. info folder says you try to be green - but no recycling bin. everything we put in the bin could have been recycled/composted but i suspect is on its way to landfill. seats at table low compared to height of table glad we weren't in the house to chill as the clay shooting would have been annoying. some odd interior design -didn't understand the fake grass on top of the cupboards. lovely clock but it was showing the wrong time. .

The property was modern with lots of character andlocation was remote and exactly as we had hoped. It was well-furnished, comfortable and perfect for a night away with friends. The beds were extremely comfortable and well furnished. We went for lunch in Abergaveny which was great and not far away.

A couple of suggestions that would improve the stay: We opted to bring food to make a meal. There were no sharp knives, only cutlery which we improvised with and no whisk. Not a massive issue but would be good for have some more utensils. The plumbing was temperamental, the owners kindly gave us more time to check out as showering took a bit longer which was good.
