Albergue & Cafetería Vía de la Plata Hervás

Eva, the manager of a hostel was very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was typical: coffee, juice, bread, some jam.

Well. The room has no windows you can open, for a start. No air conditioning, just a fan. In a room was well over 30°C. You cannot get ANY sleep in this temperature. But that is not all. The room is basically IN A CLUB. Behind the cardboard door there are people shouting, drinking and every 10 minutes, trying to come inside, as they think.it is a toilet. Music is so loud until middle of the night, you cannot call anyone, watch youtube or speak to anyone. You feel, like you lay down in a middle of the dance club. I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone looking for a nights rest. At 3 at night, when the music stopped, I went outside to catch a breatch and was thinking, that sleeping outside would get me much more comfort. Seriously. The bedsheets, in my opinion, were not changed, after previous client. Mosquitos in a room. Everything kind of old and messy. Terrible night. Would say, the worst on my first 500km of Via de la Plata.

Muy cómodo, muy limpio y super cerca de la zona de bares y restaurantes, aunque el propio albergue tiene bar y restaurante muy recomendable

El lugar es una antigua estación acondicionada. Muy especial con mucho encanto. Ambiente joven y música way.

Que yo llegara y estuviera cerrado y no hubiera ninguna nota en la puerta de ausencia breve y que no contestaran al teléfono cuando llamé.

El olor a limpio de las sábanas, colchón cómodo. Lo poco que hablé con el personal perfecto.

Música demasiado alta hasta las 23:30h y por la tarde a partir de las 19:30h, altísima, las habitaciones encima de la cafetería, no desayuné ningún día, muchas picaduras la primera noche por todo el cuerpo, el aire acondicionado echaba caliente, siento mucho escribir éste comentario pero de 2 noches pagadas sólo pasé allí una, he tenido mala experiencia. Lo mejor el pueblo y las rutas..

Very nice albergue. Just along the Via verde de la plata. Very handy location. I was the only sleeper in a 4 bed dormitory. In the room is a fan. Clean, ironed sheets are provided. Hervas is a nice little town with good facilities. It's also a great hiking center. In the morning there was a delicious breakfast prepared for me, coffee included.

A beautiful hostel coverted from a country train station, with great atmosphere - a downstairs cafe/bar with large outdoor seating area. Locals dropping in all the time to chat with the staff. Very kind and generous staff who went out of their way. Beautiful location right on the hiking trail, overlooking the town. Also great food at reasonable prices!

Lovely atmosphere and really nicely converted building. Great to have a cafe/bar on site although it wasn’t open in the evening (but maybe because it was Sunday)

Bit odd that there were no staff in building in evening and a couple of people arrived and wanted to stay.

New, modern, clean, good sized rooms. Nice touches to have a good locker with key, and towels provided. The included self-serve breakfast was very generous.

No staff on site after bar closed, which was 6pm the night I stayed. With only three of us in the albergue, we were left to 'fend off' other arrivals who had not booked, having to explain to them that they needed to book and connect via Booking.com. It made us feel uncomfortable and rather selfish, especially as those arriving were pilgrims who had expected to find the albergue still open during daylight hours. One basin in a very cramped bathroom would be problematic when the albergue is full. Also nowhere to hang clothes when in the shower.

Great location, excellent staff.
