Lakefront Contemporary - by My Home In Como

The apartment was gorgeous, spacious, with 2 terraces overlooking breathtaking views on lake Como and Bellagio. Port for Ferry that went to Bellagio and Varenna was just a minute’s walk. We swam in the lake since there were pebble beaches just across the street. A bus stop was also close by, plus a mini market and 2 good pizzerias. Fab location

The entrance to the open space kitchen and living room was made entirely of glass with no curtains, which meant that it got awfully hot in the afternoon and it took ages before the air conditioning had any effect (terrible waste of energy). Bedrooms had shutters so they kept cool. Another problem with not having curtains at the entrance is lack of privacy. The first morning i went to the kitchen at 7:30am, in my nightdress, and the gardeners were watering the plants just outside this transparent glass door. Quite unpleasant. Last thing, it would have been nice for the description to mention the bus number to get to the flat from Como city (one hour drive) for those not arriving by car. Luckily, the hosts gave us the info when we called because we had trouble finding the info.

This place is perfect in every way!

Check in was easy. I liked that there was a lock box and the pictures to describe where to park and how to get in. Free parking was a bonus. Outstanding views, especially up on the second level. The kitchen was well equipped. Nice to have a market so close. Very light and bright and clean. Much quieter side of the lake despite the road. Good walking paths in both directions.

The beds were not super comfy but with the black out windows, they were good enough to accidentally sleep in. The road noise wasn’t a problem but it is right next to the busy roadway.

Hot water didn’t work & we had to re-locate to a less suitable location

The location of the house was ideal in all aspects and it was a perfect getaway for family/friends. The facilities were top notch with a very responsive host. We felt home for the duration of our stay here and had to leave this place with a heavy heart :) If you are looking for a spacious place right in front of the lake ( with a view of Bellagio) for your group along with space for your pet and car, please do not miss this one :)

Nothing great, there can be few, but it does not bother you much :)

The apartment is well-furnished and very clean. Has amazing view and a roof terrace. The hosts are very nice and helpful. They allowed us early check-in and late check-out free of charge. When we told them the cooking pan was burnt by previous guests and we couldn’t find a pot, they brought completely new ones that same day.

We didn’t manage to access wi-fi. It’s not a real issue for us since we can use mobile internet, but for guests from outside the EU it might be a bigger problem.

The remote control on the parking garage did not had any batteries so I couldn’t open/close the gate to have my car secure!!! This gave me a hard time during my stay!!!
