Hotel Camping Les Roses Des Dunes & Piscine

The location - it is just at the edge of the dunes and you can wonder off straight from the hotel to the dunes. The view from the roof top was beautiful.

The bathroom was cold and miserable, there was no shower cabin, just a big space with shower head. Towel hooks were not holding. It was quite disappointing as for a so claimed 4 or 5 star hotel. Food was quite average. Payment was accepted only in cash.

Séjour exceptionnel ! Personnel au petit soin, à l’écoute. Propose de belles activités (chameau, bivouac, buggy etc…). Mustapha est très compétant et au petit soin. D’autant plus que l’hôtel se situe dans un magnifique cadre, avec la piscine qui rafraîchit. On reviendra ! Je recommande fortement cet établissement si vous voulez passer des vacances parfaites.

Location, this is honestly the only good thing about it. Oh maybe the parking as well, but that's not unique for Merzouga. Everywhere has plenty of parking

This is now known as La Rose de Sables on Google Maps In the 'would I stay there again' test. I wouldn't stay there again. For context, I've travelled Morocco, North and West Africa significantly. This is far from my first time in the Sahara. My expectations are pretty low to begin The place has so much potential. But poor attitude, bad management and what appears to be a lack of pride fail it miserably. The location is superb for the dunes. You can literally walk out on to them. There's several terraces you could happily sit on and enjoy the view. But they are filthy and have zero furniture. The rooms are spacious, and everything somewhat works. But everywhere you look there is a lack of maintenance and care. See the photos of the numerous fixings that are hanging on by very little and wiring hanging out. All bodge jobs. It feels 80% complete and then they quit at that point as the the surface looks ok to them For example. Although spacious, the rooms have bare minimum furniture. There's nowhere to hang a jacket, store your clothes etc. So you have to use the chairs, but then you cannot sit. Or you put stuff on the floor. The aircon (heat for us) was weak, underpowered and kept breaking down. There was a set of tools by the aircon unit on the roof (see pic). So it's clearly an issue. In a two night stay, they had to fix it 4 times. The last time, we gave up with it as it only partially working and making a huge noise. Every time, they tried to blame us saying we'd played with the settings. There was never even a hint of an apology. Very much a 'your problem' attitude. The tools would indicate this is a known issue and they're sick of fixing it I cannot imagine how hot it would get in warmer months! For us, it was 8 degrees at night, so not terrible with blankets, but still cold and unpleasant. More examples are theres no bathroom shelf to put toothbrushes on. They provide sachets of shampoo, but no shower gel.

Escolhemos este hotel como destino final da nossa viagem à descoberta do Sul de Marrocos e não podíamos ter escolhido melhor. As pessoas são fantásticas, a comida é caseira, abundante e saborosa... os quartos são amplos e exóticos. A piscina é deliciosa. E a vista direta para as dunas é a cereja em cima do bolo. Foram as fotos mais bonitas da nossa viagem. Pedimos ao Mustafa que nos proporcionasse um passeio de camelo e de 4x4. Ele tratou de tudo. Foi fantástico. Ideal para estadias de 2 ou mais noites para desfrutar do deserto com calma...
