On the Rocks @ Eersterivier

The views are spectacular. The artist room was not used but I would not recommend it. The loft was a good surprise; like a little flat on its own and definately not cramped like lofts often are. The beach is great with no waves and the colour of the sea absolutely breathtaking.

The kitchen utensils were not up to standard. Knives were very blunt and we could not find a sharpener. An Air fryer would be a good addition. We could not find dishcloths for washing dishes; only for drying. With no diswashing machine, we employed Judith who is a little star:) Most afternoons were quite windy so it was difficult to find a spot to braai outside but the men managed.

What an absolutely amazing spot! You couldn’t ask for a more peaceful or beautiful location, and it’s impossible to get any closer to the ocean. The house is spotless, comfortable, and very well equipped. We can 100% recommend it and can’t wait to return!

Wish we stayed longer.

Wat een fantastische lokatie!

De keuken en badkamers zijn verouderd/in slechte staat en ruiken niet fris. Renovatie is geen overbodige luxe.

De lokatie is fantastisch. Maar wel veel van voorzieningen, dus meen alles mee voor ontbijt en dergelijke.

De keukenkastjes zijn aan vervanging toe, maar dat vonden wij niet storend.

The view was amazing!

The fact that the bed we slept on , didn’t smell fresh and clean. It had a bit of a dog smell, which i didn’t like.

The views are amazing! Literally on the Rocks. The kids had the whole top floor to themselves which they enjoyed. Was a quick in and out, but listening to the ocean while sleeping was so good. Truly a wonderful family home and great for a quick getaway.

Just a heads up there is about a 6km gravel road to get to the main estate.

Die Lage direkt über den Felsen am Indischen Ozean hat uns die Sprache verschlagen. Ein komplettes Haus, voll eingerichtet, in sicherer Lage, mit offenem Kamin, WLAN, ungehindertem Blick auf das bewegte Meer und die Brandung -großartig! Hätten wir vorher Bescheid gewusst, wir hätten unseren Aufenthalt spontan um einige Tage verlängert. Man sollte als Selbstversorger möglichst alles Notwendige mitbringen. In einem kleinen Laden in etwa 15 Km Entfernung kann man sich mit dem Nötigsten eindecken. Feuerholz gibt es preiswert am Info-Büro. Ein besonderer Dank gilt unserer Kontaktperson Franette, deren Einsatz und Hilfsbereitschaft es zu verdanken ist, dass meine in einer riesigen, für mich unzugänglichen Baumkrone hängen gebliebene Drohne, zwei Wochen nach unserer Abreise geborgen werden konnte. Außergewöhnliche, für Südafrika jedoch durchaus typische, Hilfsbereitschaft!

The location is fantastic, lovely house.

We had a delightful experience at On the Rock. Valentina kindly provided us with a comprehensive booklet of information prior to our arrival, which we found very helpful. The accommodation was clean and felt safe throughout our stay. We truly have no complaints and consider it an ideal place to stay. We look forward to the opportunity to return in the future.
