River Rest - Norfolk Broads

The location was perfect. To sit on the veranda overlooking the river, listening to the birds, watching the boats, swans, ducks and the heron was heaven.

The property exceeded what we were expecting. From the tranquillity of the surroundings to the decor of the property with personal touches throughout. Superb kitchen with high end appliances and throughly clean throughout. Tina the property manager was an absolute pleasure to deal with and supplied us with various tourist and local attractions as well as local food establishments.

Everything was great

Loved everything about Rivers Rest apart from the flooded road to get to it but it didn’t stop us having a fab time.

There was intermittent humming noise at night from what we thought was some sort of generator outside, but again it didn’t stop us getting to sleep

Beautiful site, comfortable accommodation. Convenient for local wildlife sites.

No outdoor security light at parking area.

Excellent, clean property with everything you needed. Tina was a great help with local advice and suggestions of places to visit.

Access to the river for my small fishing boat was a great bonus. Contact from the owners great and arrival pack much appreciated.

Was a little concerned that the lodge isnt on the river itself but as it turned out there was no cause for concern. It was lovely to watch the wildlife, a heron was a daily visitor along with a family of 8 swans that often swam past, lots of ducks, Egyptian geese, a kingfisher etc etc. The lodge is very well equipped, clean and comfortable. It was a perfect base to explore. Norwich, the Broads, and the Norfolk coast are all within 30 minutes. Local Boat hire was easy and very reasonably priced. The shops in the village were perfectly adequate for getting basic shopping and there was a lovely pub/restaurant nearby.

We needed a car to get around. Some would say not because there is a train station and the village within about 15 minutes walk but our walking capacity isnt so good.
