Dar Tan-Nanniet - House of Character with Private Pool

Tolle Unterkunft mit viel Charme und ausreichend Platz für unsere sechsköpfige Freundesgruppe. Der Pool war ein echtes Highlight und das Haus war bestens ausgestattet. Alles war sauber und die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber verlief problemlos. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen und können die Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Our family - 5 adults of 3 generations - visited Malta for Christmas and were welcomed into the house with a bottle of Prosecco and a decorated Christmas tree. The old building has been wonderfully renovated and the 5 of us were very comfortable with enough spaces to spend time together and also have time apart. The house was more spacious than we anticipated from the photos. Paul was very responsive to questions, and even arranged to have someone bring the grill back out so we could barbecue in winter. Communication was excellent. It was too cold for most of us to use the pool, but we did enjoy making fresh juice from oranges on the trees and we soaked up a little sun on the roof - the sunshine doesn’t reach the courtyard in winter. The kitchen is well-supplied with everything we could possibly need, and there are a number of stores within walking distance. The location in Zejtun is away from the tourist areas, but they are easily reached - we followed the advice of another review and used both the bus system and Bolt to get around. I found a book on the shelf with a walking tour of Zejtun which we did one day and would recommend. With heaters in each room, we were comfortable even on the chilly, rainy days. We stayed in for New Year’s Eve but were able see fireworks from the roof - even the large display in Valletta! All in all it was a very nice stay.

Just a couple of small inconveniences to be aware of: the two bedrooms that face the road do get more traffic noise than the others. It wasn’t bad - Zejtun is a small village - but earplugs would be recommended for very light sleepers. And there is no toilet on the ground floor.

Sufficient bedrooms for our family. A shower room for each double bedroom. Pool/beach towels provided. Good ground floor space, and well equipped kitchen although a coffee machine, eg Nespresso machine would be a very welcome addition. All rooms have ceiling fans and air con units that run independently which was very welcome for a menopausal woman suffering night heats. Lovely period features kept - old stone, tiles etc. Loved the kitchen being open plan to the garden, with a splash pool, garden furniture and BBQ. Lovely location. Good, fairly prompt communication with managing company.

Insufficient lounge seating for all to watch TV together. Some bed linen, towels and bath mats had pale orange coloured stains - might have been from poor water pipes but not nice to see all the same. Some of the crockery was chipped. Rubbish left from previous guest. Generally clean but inside drawers and on the ceiling fans was quite a bit of dust. One of the garden chairs collapsed under one of our party - luckily no injuries - it had rusted through. Hinge on kitchen cupboard door sheared off - we removed door for safety reasons and to prevent further damage. All issues were reported to managing agent who acknowledged very quickly. Sadly matters weren’t resolved during our stay but hopefully they will for the guests who follow.

Great property, photos don’t do it any justice, so much nicer in person. Spacious and everything you need. In a nice quiet area away from the main hustle and bustle.

Clean, AC and fans in most rooms - easy to use. Lots of instructions so understand what to do. Owner communication. Lovely pool. Shops close. Lots of little extras, toilet roll, cooking utensils, bags for rubbish. Nice decoration.

Bunk beds were short and noisy. 3rd bedroom had metal noise bed. Bins in kitchen in drawer were difficult to open and close. I.e, too shallow. More help or information to scare off bugs that bite outside. Beach towels lose fluff. Slipping around pool when floor wet. Maybe some hand rails on steps.

Nice place with character. Very quiet little village

Swimming pool although advertised as full year is not heated. Inside courtyard not prepared for spring guests.

The place was exceptional—an ideal blend of charm and comfort. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the serene atmosphere; it made for a truly memorable experience.

I wish they had a blender in the house!
