The hotel is located on a charming island with very friendly people. The property is also located close to fascinating archeological site with a beautiful view to the Nilo. When we arrive in Aswan, Omar, the owner of the hotel, arranged a taxi to pick us up from the airport. He then waited for us with his boat, even though it was late at night. The hotel is simple but charming, and very affordable. Omar also helped us arrange taxis to Abu Simbel and Luxor at a very reasonable price with a reliable driver. Breakfast was delicious. In short, we had a very pleasant stay thanks to the help of a great host.

I stayed at Kashta Nubian Guesthouse on Elephantine Island in Aswan, and overall it was a really good experience. The location is beautiful and peaceful — you can simply step outside and explore the island. It’s also conveniently close to the main sights in Aswan. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which I really enjoyed.

If I had to mention one small thing, the owner seemed a bit quiet and not very proactive in offering tours or suggestions. However, it didn’t negatively affect my stay, and overall I had a very pleasant experience.

Omar hat uns an der Anlegestelle mit seinem Boot abgeholt und direkt zur Insel gebracht. Die Unterkunft ist klein, herzlich und eignet sich hervorragend für Tagesausflüge. Sie liegt direkt am Ufer. Omar war sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Er organisierte für uns sogar einen Transfer in den frühen Morgenstunden. Ich kann die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank, dass wir bei dir verweilen durften.

Omar whips up a fine breakfast by Egyptian guest house standards, and the breakfast room at the top of the guest house is quite plesant.

10000/10 Highly recommended. Our favorite hotel and location in all of Egypt! The guesthouse is located on the beautiful elephatine island. A peaceful and quiet oasis. It is very easy to get to the island as Omar picked us up from the public ferry with his boat. We took the public ferry only once, and it was easy and very cheap (15LE). Kashta is a very charming guesthouse. It is calm, clean, and cozy. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable and there is a lovely terrace on the roof top where we ate our very tasty breakfast cooked by Omar and to simply relax. There is free Wi-Fi that works perfectly all around the guesthouse. Omar is an exceptionally friendly, honest, and respectful manager. He always took the time to sit down and answer any questions we had and made sure we felt happy and comfortable. He is genuinely a good man who goes out of his way to make our stay special. He even got up at 2am to drive us in his boat to the main land, with a packed breakfast, where we met our friendly and safe driver for our journey to Abu Simbel, which Omar kindly organized for us. Omar also helped us with our time at the island/Aswan, including organizing a night journey to Abu Simbel, faluka ride, Botanical Garden, etc. We couldn't be happier, and we would absolutely go back to Kashta when we will return in Egypt.
