Cabin in the Mountain, with Solar Energy

Todo estaba bien.

Une magnifique cabane en pleine nature avec juste ce qu'il faut de confort. Calme et vue magnifique, et de belles balades alentours.

When we arrived after midnight it was minus 14 outside and a warm plus 22 degrees inside (because the host had turned on the gas heater), the cabin was clean and tidy - and candy served in a bowl. So we felt welcomed from the moment we stepped in. The cabin has been perfect for our Christmas holiday with 2 boys (6 and 8 yr) who have declared this as their best Christmas. Lost of opportunities to play in the snow right next to cabin. We ended up mostly using sledges on the snow covered road going +6 km downhill with a magnificent view. Aahhh don’t forget to watch the beautiful sunrises served in the panorama windows - and happening at 9.30 they are an easy catch 🙂 Good to bring USB-chargeable headlamps and waterproof winter work gloves (for example when getting the water at night). We were never cold in the cabin, lots of wood available and always had electricity for the lamps. Great to try living a bit off the grid for some days - also for the kids. And all the time the host was super quick to answer if we had any questions - for example where best to ski and ice skate. We would definitely recommend to friends and would like to be back - summer or winter.

De eenvoud, het off grid leven en de prachtige omgeving. Heel leuk om te ervaren dat je met best veel comfort volledig op eigen voorzieningen kan leven. We genoten van het leuk ingerichte huis, de mooie natuur en het prachtige uitzicht.

Buiten de verantwoordelijkheid van de verhuurder: Hoewel er in de omgeving diverse meertjes aanwezig zijn die vismogelijkheden doen vermoeden, bleek vissen in de praktijk niet haalbaar. De toegang tot het dichtstbijzijnde meertje was voortdurend geblokkeerd door vrij-kampeerders, waardoor het onmogelijk was de oevers te bereiken zonder hun leefruimte te betreden. Daarnaast is het voor buitenlandse gasten niet mogelijk om een visvergunning te verkrijgen via het Noorse betaalplatform Vipps, dat de enige beschikbare optie bleek te zijn. Kortom: alle meertjes zijn óf in gebruik, óf niet bereikbaar, óf als privébezit gekenmerkt en geen vergunning mogelijk, wat het vissen feitelijk onmogelijk maakt.

Mooie hut in de Noorse natuur, zeer rustig gelegen vlakbij een meertje, prachtig uitzicht. Back to basic maar we hadden alles wat we nodig hadden.

Really back to basic which is nice for a few days.

A great place to relax, an excellent base for exploring Norway. The house is a bit out of the civilization and the power supply is solar, which is clearly described, the water is from a hand pump, etc; if you don't mind, you will be happy. The surroundings for walking or cycling are excellent. We are still charmed :) The house certainly exceeded our expectations, 10 days went by too fast for us :) We miss it:)

it is possible that the description of the access road could be improved, considering how the roads are shown by car navigations; we somehow came from the other side ;)

Beautiful little cabin. Owner very helpful.

A little more 'rustic' than we were expecting. But we enjoyed our stay none the less.

The cabin was lovely and cosy with the most incredible view. The host was really helpful.
