The Bothy, Vatten, Dunvegan

Fantastische Lage! Tolle Aussicht! Wir fanden es sehr faszinierend die wechselnden Stimmungen und Lichtverhältnisse vom Wohnzimmer aus zu betrachten und dabei auch Raubvögel beobachten zu können. Sehr komfortable und gemütliche Unterkunft, absolut empfehlenswert!!

We waren blij verrast: wat een fijn huisje en wat een uitzicht! Het moderne huisje is echt van alle gemakken voorzien: uitgebreide keuken, wasmachine (geen droger!), luxe badkamer en een fijn bed. We zijn echt niets tekort gekomen. Ja, het huisje staat op een perceel met 2 andere huisjes en nee, daar heb je geen last van. We zouden graag nog eens terug komen!

The Bothy is very comfortable and finished to a very high standard with high quality appliances. The location is beautiful with a view over Loch Vatten. We saw barn owls within meters of the Bothy.

Nothing to dislike

It rained all day one day and we were happy sat in the room admiring the fabulous view. The information from the owners was very comprehensive. The bed is lovely and comfy.

We couldn’t work out the music system but that may be us, watch the potholes on the entry road, driving carefully is required.

We stayed in the Bothy for a week in October 2024. The place is very modern and is well-equipped for self catering. Fantastic views out to the water and nearby mountains from the big windows. We would definitely recommend this to anybody as a base for exploring Skye. Hosts were great - very quick to respond and went over and above to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

Very well equipped, great location. Accomodation had everything we needed. Lovely touch of prosecco and Scottish tablet. (The Scottish tablet did have a best before date of almost 2 months ago though).

Slight niggles. The outside seating would have been better and more comfortable for us, if it was perhaps a couple of chairs and a small table, rather than a bench table, as I do have some back problems and find a bench table uncomfortable after a few minutes, or perhaps a couple of fold out chairs. My perception, although this was not stated anywhere, was that the accommodation was stood alone, but there were two other properties on site also. As it was, next door was empty during our stay, otherwise we would have been overlooked which we did not want, so this might be something to note in the description. Toiletries were provided as stated, however, there was a bottle in the bathroom labelled shampoo. There was not a shower gel/body wash bottle, so we just assumed that the shampoo bottle had shower gel, and used it as if it had.

What a great new house, feels "design" and the view is breathtaking. Lovely quiet location, perfect for exploring the island. Bed and shower super comfortabel, kitchen very large and complete. Very good communication with owners. And did I mention the view already? Keep an eye open for the long eared owl that forages for mice right in front of the house. We felt very at home, Skye is great.
