Mekhoo & Zizi Sapa Homestay

If you're looking for a budget-friendly place to stay. This might be it. They also offer treks with locals, which was one of the reasons we booked with them.

I don't understand how this place has such a high rating. Yes, it's cheap. It didn't look like the pictures. It was really disappointing. The room doesn't have walls all the way up, so light from the room next door also illuminates your room. You can hear everything that happens in the house. The bed was broken and uncomfortable. The bathroom didn't look inviting or clean. They also offer a ride to the hostel. Don't take it — it's too expensive. Grab is cheaper. Plus, we ended up sharing the ride with strangers.

Stayed here with my family. The rooms are very basic but were exactly what we expected. The price is also very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was great. Simple but delicious. Really enjoyed the family dinners too. Although its the same every night so does get repetitive if you stay a few nights. They very happily accommodated our vegetarian family too.

The social aspect. The family dinners really bring everyone together, not to mention how delicious they are!!! The hike tour to get to the building was so special, a bike picked up our belongings so we could trek through the mountains and learn all about the communities and villages!

There is a curfew at 10pm, so you are expected to be quiet then. But this isn’t really a problem but something to be aware of.

Nice traditional homestay buildings about 7km from Sapa Centre. Good family dinner, helpful staff, good view.

Dorm rooms are a bit tight for space but additional space just outside room for packs if needed. Is pretty hard to find the first time, very easy to take the wrong path. Google shows a T Junction off the main road. It's not. It's a walking/ scooter path off the road on the Right Side of the creek, with a sign up high on a timber gateway.

The food was consistently delicious, and the experience felt very local and genuine. The surroundings were peaceful and refreshing.

The room lighting a bit brighter, especially in the evening.

The trekking was both challenging and rewarding, with incredible views along the way. The overall atmosphere was very welcoming.

It convenient to have more charging outlets near the bed.

I loved how quiet and relaxing the environment was. The cultural interaction made the experience feel meaningful.

More seating areas outside made it easier to sit and enjoy the scenery longer.
