"Lovely clean house, home from home in a great location!"

10.0

This is one of the nicest, cleanest and most beautiful well appointed houses we have booked on Booking dot com. That’s the best thing about using this hotel booker is that they have boutique rooms and boutique houses. We chose Matlock because non of the 5 of us had been to Matlock before and as a family it was central for us all to meet and catch up. Check in was very easy and the house was newly renovated, clean and boutique in fact everything they said it was in their description and more…… As customers all we want is what hotels and property owners put on the tin. The lounge was a lovely place to relax and the wood for the open fire was a lovely touch, thank you. The kitchen and sink arrangement is somewhat different but that’s a part of the charm. The rooms were a good size and the beds gave us all a good night’s sleep. There is a lovely pub near to the property that offer good food, service and drinks. They even let us park our car there for the weekend. In summary: This is a beautiful house that deserves its positive reviews so it’s highly recommended.

Lovely cottage beds really comfortable and very clean. Nice welcome pack. Easy walk into Matlock just perfect

The church bells can effect sleep if you are a light sleeper but you do get used to them

"A fun characterful place to stay close to the centre of Matlock"

9.0

Great location, central Matlock about 10 minutes walk away. Provision of Christmas tree in our lounge for our Christmas stay was a nice touch. The 'bell chimes' from the nearby parish church on Christmas morning were delightful; not a problem for us at night - no louder than occasional passing traffic .

On street parking outside was often a bit difficult, but we always managed to find space within 100 metres. Kitchen a bit tricky to use as sink is in a separate utility room.

"Relaxing, comfortable and peaceful"

10.0

We absolutely loved the cottage, spotless, comfortable and warm - it was minus 5 on our first evening! Extremely well equipped and in a great location - 5 minute walk down to the town. Local pub 2 minutes away extremely friendly and welcoming to all of us including a toddler and a dog. Food was very nice too! Cottage is perfectly located and a short drive from local tourist sites if required. Claire was extremely helpful with any questions we had. Bell chiming from the church nearby was lovely - and did not disturb us at all.

We liked everything

"Modern but cosy - perfect!"

10.0

We had a really lovely weekend staying here and exploring the area. Recently refurbished, but still with character, super clean and with great features like underfloor heating and a fireplace that made this such a cosy stay. Great views over the town from the back windows. Only 10 minutes walk from the train station too, so easy to get to without a car. Snacks and nice coffee provided which was a lovely touch, and a fab local pub literally just around the corner.

It's not called bell chime inn for nothing! The nearby church rings their bells late into the night, not a big problem for us but if you are a light sleeper or come in summer and want windows open it's something to note.
