JOIVY 3BR Flat in Haymarket with Free Parking

Both showers didn’t work properly. It was very difficult for 5 adults to have a shower. No one bothered to have one on the Sunday. The sittee was extremely uncomfortable. Outside area was dirty. We were woken up at 7.15 am first morning by the builders upstairs drilling and hammering. I reported the showers on the Saturday at 5 but was told that it was to late into stay to do anything. This must have been an ongoing problem with the showers but it was denied when I said this. I wouldn’t recommend booking through altido to anyone.

Was lovely and clean with everything you need for a few days away. Nice location and easy to get the keys. I would book again without hesitation.

There is steps down to it so be warned if you have mobility issues or been on the scotch.

It is not at all a beautiful flat. Exceptionally dusty and dirty, none of the skirting boards have been cleaned for a long time so there is a build up of dust dirt and grime on every one. Cleaning to a basic level only. This was reported to Altido who did reply and arranged for cleaners to come and thoroughly clean, however, they did not turn up. The beds, on show on all of them are dirty and stained bottom divans, not nice and not expected when paying for what is described as a beautiful flat. Should have been hidden under valences. There is no freezer compartment to the fridge so could not make ice for drinks. There is not a lounge area to sit and relax in, we were a group of 6 and had to sit around the dining table all the time. Overall the description of the flat on Booking.com does not reflect the reality. It is more in keeping with student digs. Considering the number of much nicer properties available we felt the price was too high also.

Not very much as it wasnt what I expected for the money paid

1. The stairs down to the apartment 2. The dirty laundry left in cupboards 3. The bogeys stuck to the walls 4. The rubbish found in rooms from previous guests 5. The dirty fridge 6. The broken fridge shelves 7. The beasties crawling on the floors 8. The rubbish lying out the front and back 9. No parking so got 3 parking fines due to disabled guests 10. No place for guests to relax. Conveniently left no lounge out of.advert. Need I say anymore?

Location in West End, walking distance to tourist attractions or tram. Parking spot off the street Dishwasher and washing machine useful over our long stay (9 nights) Customer service agents were always polite.

The “apartment” lacks a living area / TV room, so there is no livable space to spend time as a family besides the cramped dining area. This is an important detail that should be specified. The apartment is basement level (below street), not ground level as per the Booking.com filters. Narrow and steep stairs to get down so not suitable if you have elderly family like I did, also should be specified. Sleeping arrangements were not as advertised, with the 3rd bedroom being made as one double instead of 2 singles in their advert. Had to change our sleeping arrangements until error corrected by Altido on day 3 No hangers, so we couldn’t unpack properly until day 4. Altido promised that hangers would be delivered, but I gave up and ordered my own on Amazon. Their hangers never arrived. Mismatched and broken glassware in the kitchen. Had to stop my son from splitting his lip on a raw edge of a broken glass, and bought my own glasses from Poundland as I knew from the hanger situation I wouldn’t get anywhere with Altido. Bathrooms were old and grotty. Main bathroom has terrible wobbly seat and no toilet roll holder. Second bathroom shower never worked (who inspects the place?), and was finally fixed on day 4. None of the closet lights worked, and various other light bulbs out. Livable, but shows lack of inspection to even basic details. No coat hooks in the front entrance to hang up your sopping wet jackets (in Scotland). Such an easy thing to get right. The house is cleaned around the furniture, but not moved to be cleaned underneath. No fitted sheets on beds, so the bedsheet moves every night and you wake up on bare mattress. The check in process was unnecessarily complicated, with a long form that asked for all the same personal and contact information that Booking.com already possesses. Plus having to accept new terms & conditions after you’ve paid and can’t be refunded is business done in poor faith.
