Bron Eryri - Our Cosy House opposite the entrance to Portmeirion!

Lovely little house, couldn’t get any closer to our objective.

Slightly dated, needs a tidy up, a few spots of mould need attention.

Close to Porthmaddog. Private house

No parking, electric sockets buzzed and too close to the floor to plug into. Damp smell

Positives: A lovely, cosy property that’s ideal for three adults sharing or a short stay. The space is bright, clean, warm, and well-maintained, creating a very welcoming atmosphere. The bedding is comfortable and inviting, though the mattresses are on the softer side, which may not suit all preferences. The location is excellent—within walking distance to Portmeirion and conveniently close to Minffordd train station. There are visitor parking bays directly opposite the property, and it’s also a pleasant walk into Porthmadog, which offers a variety of local amenities.

Areas for Improvement: The shower could benefit from improved water pressure and temperature consistency. Additionally, basic toiletries such as shower gel were not provided, and the hand wash was nearly empty. The downstairs WC tap was out of order; however, the host did inform us of this at check-in. The TV functionality is limited, as it only works with personal streaming accounts and does not support screen mirroring or casting. The remote control was also difficult to use and may need new batteries or replacement.

We liked it was in walking distance to Portmerion.

Unfortunately which no one can do anything about it was on a noisy busy road.

The location was good - an easy mile's walk for us up to Portmerion - which was a fabulous afternoon out! Otherwise you would probably want to use your car to get into Porthmadog. We did walk to nearest village for a meal on our first night (Y Griffin - great food). Comfy bed was comfortable and good shower.

A couple of disappointments took the shine off an otherwise perfectly adequate stay. No tea towel had been left in the kitchen (so we couldn't dry dishes (or even our hands), and the hand cleanser in the bathroom should have been replaced, the last dribble had been diluted with some water - so wasn't really effective. On the first night we only had sound from the TV - even on Netflix. This wasn't a deal breaker - just disappointing after a long day's travel. Frustratingly when we tried turning everything off and on again as we were going to bed - it worked😂earlier) so we did have it for our second night. On entering the house there was a smell of drains which disappeared once the toilets had been flushed a couple of times. Some outside space would have been great as we had such great weather - but this is explained in the listing so we were aware.

The location was top notch. It was clean & a perfect home from home.

Small things - but would’ve loved a tv in the bedroom and a coffee machine. Not having them didn’t spoil things at all, but would’ve just added extra wows.
