Sunset Point Apts - Blue Horizon Suite

The apartment is in a perfect location with wonderful views across Margate beach, and only a few minutes' walk from the train station and the city's main attractions. It is in an old building which has clearly been refurbished to high standards, with tasteful decor, a really comfy bed and modern facilities, including a large walk-in shower and wireless sound system to connect your music device in.

Sadly, the host has been totally unhelpful and unresponsive before and throughout our stay. I tried to get hold of him several times beforehand, both via message and phone calls, to ask simple questions such as where I could find storing facilities for our luggage (given we arrived way earlier than the rather late check-in time of 4pm), and weirdly I didn't get an answer until 3 days later, when it was time to check out. Having then asked a similar question in response to this untimely message (the return train was much later in the day than check-out time), I never received a reply, which resulted on both occasions in a huge inconvenience for us, as we had to go around town to find somewhere to keep our suitcases, eventually relying on the spontaneous kindness of a charity shop. The irony is that in the meantime I received some scripted, clearly pre-scheduled, messages with instructions that obviously were totally irrelevant to my queries. Add to this the fact that there seems to be no sparing of house rules, and you're made to feel totally unwelcome - it would be acceptable to have so many if they were counterbalanced by warmth, professionalism, and attentiveness, but in our experience, as the above shows, the place totally lacked the basics of good hospitality and is a good reminder that there's so much more to the latter than simply making a cute accommodation available. Last but not least, for a place that wants to position itself as "luxury", it would be nice to add in a few more extras, such as better quality teas and coffees, and perhaps a welcome drink / snack. I also think the place was rather expensive overall, especially in light of the above shortcomings.

Die Wohnung ist großartig, der Check-In erfolgte persönlich durch den super netten Vermieter. Ich bekam sogar ein kostenloses Upgrade auf ein Appartement mit Balkon und Meerblick. Die Lage ist super, man schaut direkt auf den Strand. Trotzdem zentral gelegen - Stadtzentrum, Strand, Museen, Supermarkt sind in ein paar Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Haus ist in einer kleinen Sackgasse, am Ende befindet sich eine Aussichtsterrasse mit Treppen runter zum Strand. Die Wohnung ist wirklich toll eingerichtet, super sauber und ruhig. Überall flauschiger Teppich, was wirklich sehr gemütlich ist. Tolle Idee auch, dass ab dem Hausflur unten keine Straßenschuhe erlaubt sind - dadurch bleibt es überall sehr sauber und unten im Eingang steht eine Bank mit der Möglichkeit, seine Schuhe zu lagern. Man braucht keine Schlüssel, da überall elektronische Schlösser mit Zahlencode sind. Das Gebäude ist historisch und würde, genau wie die Wohnung, mit großartiger Liebe zum Detail renoviert. Eine absolut perfekte Ferienwohnung.

Es gab absolut nichts auszusetzen.

L’emplacement de cet appartement est exceptionnel. Il est proche de tout et offre une vue époustouflante. Les quelques petites avaries qui sont apparues ont rapidement trouvé une solution par l’ exceptionnelle réactivité de Robbie que nous remercions. Il a toujours cherché à trouver des solutions très avantageuses à chaque situation
