LOKAL Rooms x Skardu (Katpana Retreat)

Liked the place, but was never allowed to check in and lied. They gave it to someone else.

I was never allowed to check in at Katpana. They overbooked it and lied to me that there is a sewerage issue, and three rooms are non functional. When I went there I found no issues and they had given the property to someone else. The booking was to pay at the property, but the property customer service kept on pushing me to check in advance in FULL, else the confirmed booking may get cancelled. They did not agree for check in too. They asked us to shift to a property in the city center. I had no option but to shift there with my family as we were coming on after a 10 hour drive and no room was available at any decent place at 8pm. I pushed them to refund the balance amount, which they did after 4 hours of check in to the new place.

they have separate cottage type rooms overlooking the fake lake. they need to work on many things to make it more beautiful. they have ample space to plant roses, cherry and other fruits. they should also make dining room and reseption area.

the pretty lake which they show in the pictures is extremely dirty it needs cleaning. they had some problems with water, the water is gone at night after around 10.00pm

The water body (pond) has great potential and could be cleaner. The road leading to the resort is a bit off-road but ofcourse that’s not the property’s responsibility

This small resort with absolutely perfect! Views were stunning and the little bungalows were modern and clean. They had a great little heater that kept us warm and a lovely hot shower! The staff were wonderful and so kind and helpful. The breakfast was yummy and they made delicious Pakistani chai tea! They DID have strong WiFi too which was great for keeping us online. We hope to visit again one day!

Tbh NOTHING.

When I arrived, the room provided was full of tiny insects; literally, the entire roof was covered with them. I had to ask the staff to spray the room with insect repellent, and because of the smell of the spray, I had to wait around 30 to 40 minutes outside in the cold. Once the smell was bearable, I went back in to get some rest, and the bed was full of hair from some previous guest. However, I called the staff to come and change the bedding as well, and the new sheets that they provided were even dirtier and had stains on them (photos attached below). When I decided not to stay due to the cleanliness situation, the hotel manager threatened to report me to the local police if I didn’t pay for the room, in which I had barely stayed. On top of that, he tried to blame me for the stains on the new sheets that were provided. Apart from all the above-mentioned mistreatment, the facilities provided were extremely poor. The room had a gas heater (which are extremely dangerous) and must be turned off at night, about which I was warned by the manager on my arrival. I was also told that hot water was available, but during my 40 to 50 minutes of disastrous stay, all taps only had bearable cold water. Overall, the picture provided online and the facilities mentioned are far from the truth. The lake view is more of a dirty pond and a breeding ground for insects and mosquitoes. And the manager is the most disrespectful person I have ever came across in the hospitality industry. Would not recommend to anyone.
